Don’t Believe That Saban Didn’t Know Tuesday Was Election Day

During Wednesday’s press conference, Nick Saban was asked about the results of the presidential election. The same presidential election that everyone in the world has paid close attention to and has been incessantly discussing and losing their minds over since it became clear that Trump would be our next president.

Saban’s response was predictably all-business: “To be honest with you, I didn’t even know yesterday was election day. We’re focused on other things here.”

The question is at the 12:20 mark in the below video.

We get it, dude. You’re so focused on football and your next national title and putting 20 more guys in the league that you’re totally oblivious to the most monumental election in history. The term “try-hard” gets thrown around too freely, and I’m not saying he is one but also that’s exactly what I’m saying.

He also said, because he’s smart, that he doesn’t openly discuss politics so that he doesn’t piss anyone off. I take the same stance. Religion and politics. Won’t do it. Nothing to gain. A lot to lose. Public figs like the Nicktator and I can’t risk pissing off our people. It’s just bad for biz. He has recruits to impress and fans to keep happy, and I have you people.

Kind of a brilliant move. Now nobody will ask him about who he supported.
