Father Of The Year Posts Incredible Ad In Christian Magazine For His Virgin Daughter
One dad is going to great lengths to find his virgin daughter a match. Stephen Stewart wants his daughter to settle down and get a ring, so he did what any other good dad would do: post an ad in the Christian magazine, Christianity Today.
The Daily Beast located the advertisement and transcribed it. Here is what the ad read:
“Her: godly, gorgeous, athletic, educated, careered, humorous, travelled, bilingual, 26-year-old virgin,” the ad said. “You: unworthy, though becoming less so daily.”
He put this in the employment opportunities section and it made its way to print. The magazine has apologized, saying that the ad was in poor taste and didn’t reflect their Christian values.
“We want everything in our magazine to reflect beautiful orthodoxy, and this ad did not,” the editor in chief, Mark Galli, wrote. “We have taken a hard look at our ad review process, made some changes, and we can assure our readers that no ad like this will appear again.”
If you think about it, though, this dad is a genius. He’s concerned about his daughter’s love life, so he does his part to try and score her a husband. The man isn’t getting any younger and wants his grandkids.
Also, great move by him to describe his future son-in-law: unworthy. You know this is the kind of dad who would answer the door with a shotgun during first dates..
