Florida Gators’ Season Starts Off On Par As Two Players Are Arrested

There are three certainties in the world of SEC football: Alabama winning a conference championship, Georgia setting the bar high and then failing to live up to those expectations, and arrests amongst the Florida Gators. We can already check one of those three off the list for the 2016 season after two freshmen receivers for Florida, Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells, shot up their dorm with BB guns late Friday night. They were arrested on Sunday.
From Sun Sentinel:
The two players currently are being held in Alachua County Jail and charged with two felony counts.
Cleveland and Wells, both 18, were charged with criminal mischief for damaging property of more than $1,000 – a third-degree felony – and shooting a missile inside an occupied dwelling – a second-degree felony.
A UF Police Department report said an officer was sent to Keys Residential at 11:30 p.m. Friday and observed three windows had been shattered and had a small, round hole in each. A review of video surveillance revealed two males shooting at someone at around 6:45 p.m.
Freshmen, man. You’d think that when someone says you should fire BB guns inside your dorm, you’d have the wherewithal to think, “yeah, better not.”
One of the things that Siblings failed to mention in his 3 Reasons Florida Will Suck In 2016 article was the Gators off-the-field issues. Looks like Florida is getting things started early this year..

Fortunately we don’t need these two to beat Tennessee and Kentucky
10 years ago at 10:22 amYou could barely beat them last year. Not to mention Vandy and FAU almost beat you guys too.
10 years ago at 10:49 amThose guys would already be off the hook if they played at Bama.
10 years ago at 10:23 amMaybe they should buy better players?
10 years ago at 12:38 pmFor as stupid of a thing to get arrested for, this is no where near where some of these players get arrested for (sexual assault, assault, guns…etc).
10 years ago at 10:24 amGlad to see everyone taking the Fulmer cup seriously as we get down to crunch time.
10 years ago at 10:48 amIt is a known fact of life if your college football team doesn’t commit multiple felonies they are not making the CFP. I’ll chalk this up as a positive sign the Gators are improving.
10 years ago at 12:31 pmAll of the attention that police shooting have been getting recently and they think it’s a good idea to run around a dorm with a BB gun? With as many Todd Storm wannabes as there are in UFPD I am surprised that this ended with handcuffs and not a body bag. This is absolutely the dumbest thing I have heard of anyone doing in a while.
