Florida Man Takes Down Record 19-Foot Python

When I first read this headline, I figured this guy had to be out of his fucking mind. As it turns out though, Miami native Jason Leon has apparently “owned and handled Burmese pythons in the past,” so I guess that made it okay for him to pull this 18-foot, 8-inch monstrosity of a snake out of the Florida roadside brush when he noticed it sticking out while driving by…

HOLY SHIT, my thoughts exactly.

According to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, after Leon pulled the python onto the roadside, it started to wrap itself around his leg and attempted to constrict, at which point the likely Bear Grylls aficionado phoned authorities.

Before they arrived, Leon had already killed the 128 lb. snake using a knife and captured a new Florida state record.

“Jason Leon’s nighttime sighting and capture of a Burmese python of more than 18 feet in length is a notable accomplishment that set a Florida record. The FWC is grateful to him both for safely removing such a large Burmese python and for reporting its capture,” said Kristen Sommers, with FWC, in a release.

You know what? Maybe this dude is completely out of his skull.

Crickey! It’s a Burmese python, one of the biggest snakes on the planet. So what I’m gonna do is carefully sneak up on it, and jam my thumb in it’s butthole!

This is nothing. I knew a girl at UF that could take down a 20 ft python if you gave her a little jungle juice. To be fair, she took down a lot of pythons though, so she had practice.
