FOX Business Host Destroys #MillionStudentMarch Protestor Who Demands 1% Pay For Their College

    1. Dizzy_Bat

I love how she was completely fine with him suggesting a 90% tax on the 1% but when he went up to a 100% tax all of a sudden she was completely against it.

My parents busted ass to get to where they are so I was blessed to get a great education and land the job I have. If that dumb cunt thinks people like us will stick around if taxes rise that high then I want a hit of whatever she’s smoking.

There’s a nice piece of real estate in Chile with my name on it if shit hits the fan.

Fuck them all. Atlas Shrugged’s scenario is looking more plausible each day.

It may be time sooner rather than later to pull a John Galt.

Ron Paul was the closest we had to a John Galt. America wasn’t exactly ready to hear the message.

Doubtful. News organizations always pick someone from the opposition they know they can flatten in a debate. Granted that person probably wasn’t too hard to find in this movement.

Have you ever seen Bill Nye or Neil Degras Tsyon debate the anchors on religion? The debate usually lasts two minutes because the host knows they have no substantial argument against the two.

9 years ago at 1:33 pm
      7. Buffbro95

Well, the host usually gets defensive in that scenario because the scientists find holes in the logic of religion, causing the host to end the discussion quickly.

There are no holes in the logic of religion. Please though, if you can disprove one be our guest and try. We’ll happily tell you why you’re wrong.

And she acted as if 90% wouldnt even affect them, but if someone making $250,000, who is considered in the 1%, paid that then they would only have $25,000 left. That’s bordeline poverty for a family of four.

Didn’t you know that using math makes you a misogynistic, racist, classist pig? They’ll become morally wealthier for “donating” their money to the 99%

You’re an idiot. 90% refers to the marginal tax rate. Don’t fight ignorance with ignorance

9 years ago at 1:04 pm
      13. Kurt

Fuck, thanks for pointing that out, I forgot it’s a marginal rate. Nonetheless, it’s still an incredibly ridiculous amount, and it amazes me that she wants even more out of the 1% than they already pay.

9 years ago at 1:18 pm
      14. Frabst

No shit it’s a marginal rate. Anyone with remote knowledge of our tax system knows that. Regardless, if rates get that high you’ll see the wealthy leaving. Look at Maryland and what happened after they adjusted taxes on their 1%. Revenue has plummeted because they moved.

9 years ago at 1:26 pm
      15. WNBA_superfan

Cmon guy don’t be ignorant, when somebody says their tax rate is 50%, or 90% in your example, they’re referring to the marginal tax rate. This means only the last few dollars of their income is taxed at this rate.

Also, when somebody is extremely wealthy it’s usually because of investments rather than a high salary. Capital gains taxes are closer to 25% which is about the same as the marginal tax rate of middle class people.

Finally the the “50% tax” only applies to your taxable income. You can deduct all kinds of things to shrink your taxable income. If you own a business (which a lot of wealthy people do) you can write off your car, computer, professional clothes, etc. as a business expense meaning you won’t pay taxes on it. Also if you own a house there’s a ton of things you can write off, such as the interest on your mortgage. There’s tax credits for having kids. Some states even have more tax benefits if you have kids in college and you are helping to pay for their tuition.

At the end of the day just about everyone (rich, poor, or middle class) pays an effective tax rate somewhere between 20-30%. My family makes well over six figures and to say my parents pay 50 cents in taxes on every dollar they make is simply wrong. That’s not how taxes work.

Yes, I know, I got a little fired up when I heard “90%” and completely disregarded the fact that it’s a marginal rate. See reply to @ivyasshole

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe even if, and especially if, you claim all these deductions, you then get hit by the AMT which nulls a considerable amount of the deductions.

Not disagreeing with anything you said, but just wanted to add that you get fucked owning your own business because you have to pay your share of payroll taxes AND the company’s share. Whereas, if you work for a corporation you only pay your share, and then the company pays the other half for employing you. I’m sure your parents had more employees and more revenue than I did, but when you own your own business and you’re the only employee for the most part, you get fucked. Most people just casually get taxes taken out of their pay each check and then can look forward to a refund each April. Then they’re so excited for that money but they don’t realize they essentially loaned money to the government at 0% interest for the year. If everyone had to write a check for their year’s worth of taxes each April, like I did when I was self-employed, they might wake up and we’d get this thing fixed pretty quick.

To be honest, I never saw one conservative Christian upset about the cups. I think all the libtards assumed that the right wing would act as sensitive as they are from that situation, and went full media preemptive defense mode, making up a controversy where there was none. But maybe I just hate liberals that much.

No, there have been. I was at a Trump rally earlier this week in central Illinois (a very conservative area). When he brought up the removal of “Merry Christmas” from the cups, the crowd rang out in boos. Plenty of people have blown it out of proportion. At the same time the damm libs on the other side have blown it out of proportion as well. But don’t say there haven’t been conservative Christians who have expressed being upset about it, because that is ignorant.

That all has to do with the shit-hole of Chicago. Illinois could be a poster child for why the electoral college is out of date and needs to go. Look at a map of us for any state or national elections
and you will see that a majority of the state (for the districts) are red, it os Chicagoland districts that are democratic, unfortunately they make up a large percentage of the population. I don’t have the numbers in front of me but I’d be shocked if we didn’t have a majority of Republican representatives. We recently elected a Republican governor (Bruce Rauner) who is turning things around. He is cutting fat out of the budget be getting rid of unnecessary programs, reforming state employee retirement programs. This is scaring a lot of people into retirement, which will allow it so state janitors and security guards are no longer making $60,000 a fuckimg year, the same as accounts and IT specialist. Thank goodness for Rauner and fuck you Abu. Read a goddamm book and learn a state isn’t 100% one political party because it goes that way in elections. California has Republicans and Texas has Democrats. Grow a fucking brain.

If you don’t think there are Christians who get upset every time there is something that could even remotely be seen as an “attack” on Christmas or Christianity then you my friend have not been paying attention. If you’re talking about that annoying Kevin James look alike, then you’re wrong. It has been fsr more than him. Frankly I think anybody making a big deal out of “Merry Christmas” is fucking stupid. But I try not to be hypocritical. I don’t see why being offended by the lack of “Merry Christmas” makes you any less of a over sensitive pussy than being offended by the presence of it.

The reason is that you shouldn’t label people’s religion as offensive. Do I personally get offended? No. But when we have to change our ideals of morality to satiate the offended few, we have the fundamental basis for a larger problem. It’s not that Christians care about Starbucks saying Merry Christmas, it’s the idea that conduct lays a foundation for.

9 years ago at 2:55 pm
      2. Beecher1843

Your point makes sense legend. I however usually take it in a different way though. Its not Christmas itself that is seen as offensive, but the acknowledgement of it without the acknowledgement of other creeds and holidays. Hence the strong support for saying something like “Happy Holidays.” I myself will tell people (unless I know otherwise) Merry Christmas, somewhat out of reflex. But if someone told me, “Happy Holidays” I wouldn’t flinch. If someone told me “Happy Kuanza” I would politely correct them.

9 years ago at 3:02 pm
      3. FrayettevilleLegend

I see your point, Beecher. However, we are largely a Christian country. We also claim to be a democracy. It shouldn’t be frowned upon to pander to the majority. It should be frowned upon to pander to the minority at the expense of the majority.

The idea that the minority has a right to not be offended by the majority is the foundation of the political correctness movement. The reason it has come this far is that the majority was quite for so long. In essence we showed up late to the fight. The more we cede to the political correctness movement, the closer we come to losing our rights to free religion and free speech.

9 years ago at 8:58 pm
      4. Beecher1843

Maybe. But every year a larger portion of the country identify as non-Christian. I personally don’t see “Happy Holidays” as pandering to the minority. I see it as a nuteral way to pander to everyone. I agree with Joff (fuck me right?) I think a Christian being offend by Happy Holidays is at least as bad as a Muslim being offend by Merry Christmas. Perhaps even worse as Happy Holidays still address them. It can be taken as Merry Christmas, Happy Kuanza, or Happy Hanukkah. Hell if you’re secular and don’t celebrate any major religious holidays take it as Happy New Year.

I saw a liberal’s way of justifying raising minimum wage to $15 was by doubling everyone else’s wage. You know, cause the whole inflation thing is a myth.

      2. backinmyday

Speaking of inflation, supply / demand, etc., a college education is valuable because not everyone can get it, or should. People who want to go to college find a way. I come from a single parent family (I know, NF) and my mom is a secretary. I found a way to make it work, so can anyone else.

9 years ago at 11:28 am
      3. Tittydick

People that say they “can’t afford college” are flat out lazy or do not possess the intelligence to obtain a degree in the first place. I receive no financial assistance from my family, and am attending a large state school while paying dues. It’s difficult, but if you really have the desire to attend school you can. There are loans with relatively low interest rates from our government that allot those without the immediate financial means to attend college. Hard-working people do it, while the liberal millennials cry for hand outs at the expense of the 1% who worked their asses off to get to their financial state. Fuck.
