FOX Is Debuting A Fictional TV Show About A Girl Pitching In The MLB

FOX is coming in hot with a new show about a girl who makes it to the big leagues and plays for the San Diego Padres. So if you were ever wondering what it would look like if a girl played in the MLB, this trailer is here to show you.

Being an MLB player is extremely difficult. The amount of time, effort, practice, and God-given talent necessary to reach the bigs is extreme. It’s even more difficult if the position you are wanting to play is pitcher. To be a big league pitcher these days, you need to be throwing smoke, have deadly accuracy, and have mastered at least two out pitches to pair with your fastball. There’s no such thing as being a one-trick pony MLB pitcher (unless you’re Mariano Rivera).

Girls just can’t throw as hard as guys when it comes to baseball. This isn’t sexist at all — it’s fact. Sure, there was that one girl who was clocked at 86 in high school, but you know where 86 gets you? 400 feet deep to center field. My high school alma mater currently has five guys who throw 90+, and even all of them aren’t destined for the MLB.

This isn’t a knock on girls trying to play baseball (or any other sport that is) at all. In fact, if they want to play, let them. Just know that in this day and age, with the types of athletes we have, there are a few sports that will always be male-only, barring some freak superathlete. Sure, it makes a great media story for a girl to make the MLB, NBA, or NFL, but her psyche is going to go to shit when she gets lit up.

The only FOX show about a woman pitching that should ever exist is a Futurama spinoff about Leela’s comeback.

Anyone who doesn’t enjoy obscure Matt Groening show references aren’t my kind of people. They are the height of comedy.

Let’s be real here, it’s only a matter of a time before feminazis start pushing for the integration of professional sports, and a woman is playing in the MLB. I’m not knocking softball in anyway cause I would not want to face some of those pitchers, but they are two different styles of play, and she will get nationally embarrassed by the greatest ballplayers that the world has to offer.

As a Padres fan, I know we’re complete shit but implying that a chick has a chance to make the team? Fuck all the creators..I hope they all have hot daughters that go to big state schools

Have you seen their pitching staff? Can’t be much worse than the guys they trot out there every day

Our pitching is usually pretty good, but this year we’ve had a lot of injuries. It would’ve made a lot more sense if she was our clean up hitting first baseman.

Serena Williams can serve a tennis ball 131 mph.

To get that kind of speed the wrist at point of contact has to be moving 105mph more or less 1-2mph.

There are girls out there who have the ability, issue is they’re playing tennis and not baseball.

No one give me crap about how it’s totally different either, I understand they’re different movements but it’s the same muscle group.

I pitched 80-90mph and I can serve tennis balls 120-130mph.

Just fucking around I’ve done a tennis motion with a baseball and aimed lower, you can throw the ball damn fast like that.

I’m not saying we are gonna see women play baseball soon. I’m just saying there are a handful of tennis players who have shoulders and builds to be average pitchers.

So by your statement you and Serena have the same serving speed and you throw only 80-90 (not that I can throw faster but this is the MLB not my backyard). Wouldn’t it stand to reason then that Serena isn’t throwing any more heat than you can?

Serena and Venus Williams both, in 1998, played a set against the 203rd ranked mens player in the world at the time. Serena lost 6-1, Venus lost 6-2.

I for one just want to see Feminazis try to join the NFL. That would be some prime entertainment.
