Glorious 1986 Theta Chi Rush Video Emerges, Is A Must-Watch
Danny Regs came across this little gem while doing some research for “Why Your Fraternity Sucks.” Since he’s balls deep in writing his column, out of the goodness of his heart he handed it off to me. What you’re about to watch is the 1986 rush video for Theta Chi at the University of Maryland. It goes without saying that the ’80s were a time when rush videos still showed that “anything goes” attitude that is no longer accepted by society. This was a time when there were no worries about outrage. No worries about offending anyone. It was the best of times. And this might be the best rush video from that era.
It’s well worth the 20 minutes.
“Am I going to get laid, or am I going to remain a virgin throughout my college career?” Talk about coming in hot. That’s one hell of a subliminal message.
There’s no doubt in my mind that these guys are all wildly successful now. They just exude a level of confidence and leadership that you want in both a fraternity man and CEO. The sad part is that had these guys posted this in 2015, they’d be kicked off campus..
The most surprising part of the whole thing is white people not using some terrible rap music in a video. That was indeed a different time.

10 years ago at 11:57 pmHonestly I think the kids at that time were better socially to a larger extent because the absence of social media/cell phones/internet meant that they had to develop conversational skills. So we might have fucked up a little bit with all this ‘progress’.
