Going to an SEC school was unthinkable because I really did come from old money. I wear boat shoes because I really do own a boat with sailing privileges beyond the Chattahoochee River. My slampieces are not related to me. While southern fratstars grew up learning how to "live off the land," I grew up with class and sophistication because I know that, just as my ancestors hazed the fuck out of the south in the years 1861-65, I can do the same. New England. TFM.
Dumb ass. I graduated from UA, and was a Rhodes Scholar two years ago. This year our quarterback was a Rhodes scholar finalist. Just like the rest of the SEC we produce some of the best educated men and women in the USA.
UF is not a public Ivy, are you kidding me?? UF is consistently ranked in the 18-24 range of public schools in the country and is usually within +/- 2 ranks of Ohio state.
The thing is, OSU claims to be a well-rounded institution which is solid in a lot of areas. Its sad that what is well-rounded in one place is ‘ivy’ in another.
I agree with Say No to Cargo. There are no “public ivies.” Michigan, while they are a notch above most of the Big Ten schools, admittedly, are not a public ivy. They rank among the best public schools in the nation, sure, but “public ivy” is an oxymoron.
Have a look at the rankings and draw your own conclusions, although most “conclusions” that will be drawn by this crowd will be along the lines of “SEC is the best. This list does not concur with my fallacious conviction. This list is NF. I can instantly discredit all the contributors to this list because I disagree with them.” Save it.
I’m not going to engage in some pointless online argument about the north vs. the South. Living in God’s country (Dixie), being proud of who we are and where we came from, and not giving a damn what you yankees think about us or the South because this is the life we love. TFM

14 years ago at 1:46 pmI would’ve thought you wouldn’t go to an SEC school considering the piss poor education one would get there.
