Here’s 14-Year-Old Jordan Spieth Talking About Winning The Masters

Screen Shot 2015-04-11 at 4.50.17 PM

With Jordan Spieth holding it down at Augusta, this video has been making the rounds throughout the day.

When he was fourteen, he had long-term aspirations and goals like winning a freakin’ green jacket. Meanwhile, my biggest ambition at that age was to share a water bottle full of Skol vodka on a Friday night, with eight buddies or so, and not get caught. That, and maybe getting a hand jibber from Becky under the park bridge. I was an optimist.

It just explains exactly why Spieth is on his way to becoming the best golfer on the planet, and why I’m the borderline neanderthal whose best days have already past him by.

Very rarely can I actually stand listening to a 14-year-old speak. Spieth is a helluva dude.

Nike handed the touch to Rory a bit early. Tiger looked very promising in today’s round and Spieth appears to have more potential than Rory. Even having played last weekend, he turns around and ties a record low for the Masters. Number one golfer in the world will be an American in two years tops. No one is passing Mick or Spieth at Augusta though. Tomorrow should be good.

“More potential than Rory” do you even follow golf outside of the masters?! Spieths A game vs Rory’s A game isn’t even close.

Meant to lap you but gave a like instead. Any of these guys can win on any giving day, calling their “A game” far apart is stupid.

No, but he didn’t say that. He said “more potential”. Rory has far more talent than Spieth does. Granted Spieth is an awesome talent, but his upside isn’t as high IMO.

If Spieth and Rory were compared at the age of 21, Spieth shows more potential. The youngest player to finish in the top ten in masters history with a 2nd place finish and now the only golfer besides Tiger to reach -18 at the Masters. In only his second time playing Augusta he is dominating. I stand behind my statement. From a purely observation standpoint, nothing in the world seems to bother him. He’s got many majors ahead. Plus, Rory is from Ireland. Spieth is a Texan.

Not too long ago Rory’s first chance at a major (also Augusta) he blew up. That iron shot on 18 today by spieth has me feeling uneasy about him tomorrow. Hope he does well, cause I like him and I’m sure he’ll be a top American player for a while. BUT golf isn’t like other sports. 4 yrs is normally a big difference but you have no clue how long someone will play/their game will last. People usually peak around 30 in golf (age when they win the most) so even though the future looks bright for spieth, let’s see if he has 4 majors in 4 years.

Didn’t lap this, I agree with what you’ve stated, but how Spieth finished and saved par on 18 was beautiful. We are talking about the top two golfers in the world, anything can happen. In my opinion, I believe Spieth will have more majors when it’s over, but that’s hard to predict.. that’s why golf is such an awesome sport. Let’s keep the green jacket in America, Mr. Spieth.

Isn’t it a little peculiar that Rory gained 20 yards with his driver in one off season, steroids maybe? Don’t forget he still throws his clubs in the pond.

If you’re going to comment atleast bring something to the table and not that rubbish. His driving distance has been essentially the same since 2009. He’s not even that big, he’s just cut.

Spieth is also sponsored by Under Armour, so I don’t think Nike would make an ad for Nike with an Under Armour golfer

Nike really fucked this one up. This is gonna come back to bite them in the ass unless they pay to break his under armour contract so they can sign him (if that’s possible). I’m a Nike employee kid so I’m biased but I really don’t want to be subjected to 19 shitty UA logos all at once every time he’s on TV for the next 10yrs (that is not a hyperbole. He literally had 19 from head to toe on Sat.) Besides the best players should be with the best company and (objectively) Nike is exponentially superior to under armour

Golf is for pussies and old men. Its the only sport old men can still play at their age. Golf, NF.
