Here’s What An NFL Team’s Evaluations For Draft Prospects Look Like
The build-up to the NFL Draft can make or break a potential NFL prospect. The kids spend countless hours making their combine/pro-day numbers stand out above the rest and hope that some scouts can evaluate them correctly. But what do scouting reports actually look like?
Luckily, some guy stumbled upon the 2010 NFL Draft evaluations for the Oakland Raiders and threw them up on the image sharing site Imgur. Now we can see how one of the league’s most polarizing teams evaluates talent.
Let’s see how they did.
Sam Bradford
What They Got Right
• Bradford is a medical liability. He suffered back-to-back season-ending ACL tears in 2013-14 and was limited due to a high ankle sprain in 2011. Every time he takes a hit, Eagles fans were probably wondering if he was seriously hurt.
• How will he handle intense pressure? Not well, apparently. He’s been sacked 148 times in his five-year career and has thrown 52 interceptions. Then, when the Eagles trade up to draft Carson Wentz, he crumbles and demands a trade.
What They Got Wrong
• Basically just take every strong point and put it here.
Rob Gronkowski
What They Got Right
• Does not go down easy after the catch. He’s a man child out there.
• Best all-around player in the draft. It’s either him or the next guy.
What They Got Wrong
• “No. 2 TE” — Or just an all-pro badass.
• Average route runner/average hands. I think the numbers kind of speak for themselves. He doesn’t have a high drop percentage and the dude is usually catching balls with another guy draped over him.
• Failed to mention how great of a partier he is.
Dez Bryant
What They Got Right
• Possible beast. I’m just trying to imagine him in the Steelers offense right now if we had taken him instead of Pouncey. An AB/Dez combo is deadly.
• Lacks concentration at times. Once you’re in Dez’s head, it’s pretty much game over. When he’s got Weeden, Cassel, or Kellen Moore tossing him the pigskin, then he mentally checks out.
What They Got Wrong
• Lacks elite burst to track down a ball. He once raced a damn horse in college and barely lost.
• Final ranking of 2, which is to indicate he won’t be a star, just a starter. Nailed that one, Sanjay.
Jimmy Clausen
What They Got Right
• Pretty much nothing.
What They Got Wrong
• Pretty much everything..

Roger Dorn
Strengths: High escapability has been evading law enforcement and angry commenters for years
Weaknesses: cannot make decisions for shit, golf swing is terrible, hair is stupid, raging homosexual and pervert, not allowed near most schools or playgrounds

9 years ago at 12:40 pmJimmy Clausen strengths: girlfriend is probably real (sets him apart from teammates) largest forehead at the combine (good QBs always have massive foreheads), comes from chokre dame so he must be good, (right Brady Quinn?) throwing to golden tate and Michael floyd couldn’t have possibly made him look better. Weaknesses: smallest face at the combine (only 3.4 square inches) poor face / forehead ratio, lost to Pitt in 09, almost lost to Pitt again in ’10, ’11 and ’12
