Illinois Fraternity Falsely Accused Of Making Bizarre, Incredibly Racist “A Bug’s Life” Themed Video

As reported by WGNtv, the ATOs at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC) have come under fire recently after an A Bug’s Life themed video filled with anti-black hate speech and lynching references, titled “SIUC White Is Right,” was posted to YouTube under account name “ATO AZO.” The original video has since been taken down along with all mirrors that were uploaded later on.

The video, which makes reference to ATO by name and calls for violent actions against black people, caused a huge shitstorm on SIUC’s campus. And, because the public apparently assumes that fraternity members are the biggest blubbering morons in the entire world who would attach their organization’s name to a video that would 100% undeniably get their charter pulled faster than they could say “at least it wasn’t an Ants parody,” people legitimately believed this video came from the SIUC ATOs.

Thankfully, ATO nationals are backing up the chapter. According to WGNtv, Wynn Smiley, the CEO of Alpha Tau Omega, released the following statement about the ordeal that sides with the SIUC ATOs.

Alpha Tau Omega condemns the racist video recently posted on YouTube claiming to be created by ATO’s at Southern Illinois University. The chapter and its members had nothing to do with the creation or distribution of the video and were first made aware of it when the video posted on YouTube. The men of Alpha Tau Omega Southern Illinois University chapter find the message in the video highly offensive and reject any form of racism as a direct assault on the campus community.

Furthermore, Brad Colwell, the school’s interim chancellor, made a reference to the incident via a tweet sent out by SIUC’s official Twitter account. And, in the surprise of the century, Colwell seemingly sides with the ATOs.

Of course that didn’t stop anti-Greek students who’ve already made their minds up from demonizing the ATOs.

Ah yes, I forgot “innocent until proven guilty” doesn’t apply when it comes to matters of race. GIVE THE TAUS THE CHAIR!!!

Let’s hope the asshole responsible for making this video gets his comeuppance ASAP.

    This has nothing to do with the article, but I mean Bugs Life was kind of about Communism anyways. The ants pick the grain, the grasshoppers eat most of the grain, until what’s his name leaves and finds a bunch of clowns, smokes dope with them, comes back and kamikazes the grass hoppers with a bunch of Girl Scout ants (reckless) and then gets beat up, saves the queen, gets the girl. Freedom for the ants and other bugs. Boom idk why I typed all of this. Honestly, just pissed I couldn’t watch the video the article referenced. Not cause I’m racist, but come on racist bugs life…. What kind of person makes that. Lol though
