I’m not hating on Mormons- they are a very loving and generous people who have good morals. I have many great Mormon friends. But to say it is a sect of Christianity would be equivalent to saying Islam is a sect of Christianity. Not because the Mormon faith is equivalent to Islam, but because both have a few rough connections to Christianity yet preach completely different things on a deeper level. Islam was created by a violent man and has violent followers and I have much more respect for Mormons, but they aren’t “Christians” according to the Protestant faith.
