Indiana University Greeks Beat Each Other Bloody In Charity Boxing Tournament

Sigma Pi at Indiana University packed an old warehouse full of fellow Greeks so they could watch each other, fraternities and sororities, beat each other bloody in the name of charity.

The “Last Man Standing” boxing event charged $10 at the door with proceeds going towards The American Cancer Society and IU Relay For Life. No word yet on how much they raised this year — they’re probably still counting up the dough — but last year’s event raised over $16,000 and earned Sigma Pi the 2015 Relay For Life Team of Excellence Award from The American Cancer Society Lakeshore Division.

The event is a big deal at IU. Competitors train for months in advance. Look at the hype video:

Here is some footage form this year’s tournament. Looks like the crowd keeps getting bigger and bigger:

In addition to the funds raised for The American Cancer Society, the winner also received $1,000 to give to a charity of his choosing:

Great job all around. Probably the most hardcore charity event I’ve ever seen.

Sigma Pi here at IU isn’t usually known it’s campus involvement. I was really surprised and impressed with how the event turned out. Good work guys. Looking forward to getting into the ring next year.
