When it comes to social life, there is hands down no comparison. I’m not sure why you’d even bring that up. Academically, yes, the north has more “good” schools; however, the people on this site do not attend those schools. Y’all are so proud of your Ivy League, but yet you probably attend Iowa whilst myself and other southerners attend respectable universities such as UGA or UT. Economically, it really depends what you base it off. Cost of living is much lower in the south and I can assure that I live pretty damn well along with many of these other guys. The fact of the matter is I know that I’m happier living in the Ole’ south than I ever would be living up there.

In the South we come from some of the oldest money in the country. You should read the book “Old Money New South” by Dean W. Arnold it will explain it a little better for you, that is if you are academically able too.
