Jay Cutler. TFTC.

SOUTH CAROLINA.—As I drunkenly stumbled out of The Silver Dollar on King Street shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday morning, I had no idea that a few hours later I would witness something in the NFC Championship game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers that would result in nationwide hysteria among sports fans. I’m referring of course to the now infamous Jay Cutler debacle.

As I was lying in my bed recovering from the previous night’s drunken escapades, Cutler came out of the game with a knee injury that later turned out to be an MCL sprain. Now, I’m sure like many of you, my initial reaction was to say, “You pussy! You don’t sit out of the game with this much at stake!” I was further incensed by Cutler seeming to lack interest as he sat on the sideline. Before long everyone in the world was calling Cutler out, and questioning his work ethic, toughness, character, etc.

But, I began to question myself and others as the night wore on. I thought back to my days as a football player, and I recalled the days that followed my own knee sprain. It was nothing too serious, and it didn’t cause me a great deal of physical pain when I wasn’t moving around on it heavily. But, I sure as shit couldn’t play on it for a few days. As I said, the pain wasn’t very severe, but the weakening of the knee and the lost range of mobility made it so that I couldn’t play on it.

Applying my own experiences to the Jay Cutler situation, I finally realized that no player in his right mind is going to voluntarily sit out in that situation. I tell you all the same thing: Cutler didn’t quit. He really couldn’t go. I believe that, and I really don’t care to hear anything to the contrary, because the fact is none of us were there, and none of us can know. But Cutler’s teammates, coaches and even his opponents went to bat for him after the game saying he didn’t quit. I’ll take their word over any other player on Twitter, ESPN or NFL Network analysts.

(As an aside, it should also be noted that Cutler has Type 1 Diabetes, which he found out about after entering the NFL. The severity of that illness is quite often understated, and the fact that he keeps himself in good enough health to perform as a top-tier professional athlete is remarkable in and of itself. I know I probably couldn’t do it. He’s far from a quitter.)

However, that’s not the real issue here- at least not for me. The issue, in my opinion, is why the people in this country love to hate Jay Cutler so much. Where does all of this animosity come from? Well folks, I offer this simple answer. It’s because Jay Cutler is FaF, and everyone criticizing him is a jealous GDI.

Think about this for a moment. First, it must be pointed out that Cutler is a Greek alumnus from Vanderbilt. Secondly, Cutler’s always been sort of brash, saying most anything that he believes, regardless of whom it might offend. He thinks he’s great. All in all, Cutler is everything that the outside world hates Greeks for. We’re cooler than everyone else, and we’re arrogant. So is Cutler, and that’s why people hate him. That, people, is where all of this animosity is coming from that’s being directed toward him.

So, when I saw Kentucky WildFrat’s post on TFM earlier that said, “Jay Cutler. TFTC,” I knew that at least some of you understand and empathize with our Greek brother as he undergoes these assaults from the rest of the jealous GDIs in the NFL. But, of course, I then saw the comments following Kentucky WildFrat’s post wherein several people called Cutler a pussy. It’s you folks who need to understand Cutler and quit judging the guy like a bunch of geeds. It’s not his fault he’s awesome. No need to hate the man and call him a quitter just because he’s TFTC.

Bear Down! The dude is FaF, but I don’t think he was greek. A lot of athletes aren’t allowed to go greek because their coaches don’t want them raging every night and showing up to the games hungover.

Reaganomic, Balanced Man speaks the truth. He said a lot, not all. Different coaches have different rules. I know Spurrier won’t let the players go Greek.

There is no Sig Phi at Vanderbilt anyway, so technically he’s a geed. I’m torn on his frattiness though.

Brotie we black ball people that say shit like that. It is lame as fuck and it doesn’t make any sense. If you abbreviated country it would be count. Seriously, we should phase that shit out immediately.

Chicago has a history of having quarterbacks hazed until they drop. Kyle Orton, Rex Grossman, Jay Cutler, all of them were good when they came to the windy city but ended up getting paddled.

Playing on an injured knee and taking years and millions of dollars off of your NFL career for one game. NF. Resting so that you can play for more years and making millions more. TFM

You can also make millions more by showing that your a great player, taking you team to the Superbowl, and winning it. The desire to settle with what you’ve already received in life NF. The desire to risk it all, take chances, and win big. TFM

I mean, lots and lots of people have more slampieces than Jay Cuntler. Hugh Hefner, Brett Favre, Any black person that screams into a mic, Justin Bieber, Tom Brady…actually just every “elite” QB and probably every CEO of every fortune 500 company that isn’t foreign. Cutler is emo. Surrendering isn’t American and therefore NF.

I go to Alabama and have been to Vandy twice. I will say they rage hard and they all blow money out the ass. Definitely one of the frattiest in the SEC.

Jay Cutler=FaF. As a type 1 diabetic myself I can vouch that this disease can be over whelming at times and seeing him manage that and still play in the League is very respectable. The medical staff has the final call in these situations so don’t question Cutler’s toughness, it’s simply that he wasn’t allowed back on the field. The whole endless slampieces is also very respectable. Frat on Jay Cutler.

Haha this article is great. My original intent of my post “Jay Cutler. TFTC.” was mostly based on the fact that he frankly doesn’t give a shit what Maurice Jones-Drew or any other players sitting at home WATCHING the playoffs think. Cutler makes almost $10 million a year and gets to bang Kristin Cavallari every night. On the other hand, the criticism of his demeanor might be justified. I don’t think he lives and breathes football like most people expect of him. He just happens to have a fucking cannon. Coasting through life on your God-given talents = FAF.

Cutler was not a “Greek alumnus” from Vandy. Get your facts straight before you write a column.

I mean neither is being poor, from the north, or a ginger, but that doesn’t seem to stop us from calling them NF.
