Jordan Spieth Once Wrote A Thank You To The Family Who Helped Put Him Through High School
Jordan Spieth is the man I want my future son to be. Not only is he one of the greatest golfers on the PGA Tour right now at the age of 21, but he is also one of the greatest all-around guys you’ll ever meet. We’ve seen his humility in all of his post-round interviews. He even gave us this great quote, “Me speaking about humility is very difficult because that wouldn’t be humility.” He also portrays that same humility off of the course.
While attending Jesuit High School in Dallas, he had to work for his tuition. While in the work grant program, he received the Joseph M. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Fund that helped fund his tuition at Jesuit. When he was a Junior, he took the time out from absolutely destroying the competition to pen the following thank you letter to the family who set up the scholarship.

Little did he know that five and a half years later he would be realizing that dream.
What a class act. I can only imagine what it would be like to play in a grouping with him. Here’s to many more majors, Jordan.

Spieth is quickly becoming the new Manziel of TFM, except he isn’t a monumental douchebag.
10 years ago at 4:58 pmSpieth is an awesome guy and I’m definitely a fan. But I know every scholarship I’ve ever received I’ve had to write a thank you letter for.
10 years ago at 4:59 pmBut his signature is probably worth more than yours..
10 years ago at 8:03 pmI like Spieth and what he did is nothing short of incredible for someone his age, but writing a thank you note for a scholarship is pretty routine.
10 years ago at 5:00 pmTrue, what impresses me is that he was willing to work to pay for his education at an age when most people I knew were barely willing to work for a little spending money. It shows class and maturity well beyond his age that only adds to the legend I am sure he will become.
10 years ago at 6:28 pmA class-act and a champion all in one
10 years ago at 5:02 pmAt the rate he’s going with all this feel good news, he’ll be saving pets from burning buildings in no time.
10 years ago at 5:09 pmStarting to think you’re more into hi than Danny B
10 years ago at 5:11 pmHe is a great dude, but writing a thank you note to someone who gave you thousands doesn’t exactly prove much.
10 years ago at 5:17 pm… As should anyone who receives that kind of help; it’s just a gentlemanly thing to do.
10 years ago at 5:19 pmSpieth is the definition of RFM.
10 years ago at 5:38 pmGotta love this guys character of good moral. Great form.
