Justin Bieber Wouldn’t Perform At GOP Convention, Thank God

justin bieber

When offered $5 million to perform near the GOP convention last week, Justin Bieber and his camp flat-out refused. This was despite the production costs of the event being paid for as a term of the offer.

From The Hill:

A promoter told Bieber the event was “not political,” adding he need not endorse Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump or any GOP policies.
TMZ said Bieber’s team disagreed, with agency CAA and manager Scooter Braun both finding the event “100 percent political.”

Braun, who supports Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, then suggested Bieber display Black Lives Matter banners during his performance.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that displaying BLM banners may have been the greatest idea in the world, and would certainly have made for an interesting GOP convention. That would be almost as bad as if Hillary emailed her acceptance speech to the DNC from a private account. Almost.

It’s too bad that the GOP wasn’t able to get Bieber to play at the convention, but…wait, no it isn’t. And this isn’t coming from someone who irrationally hates Justin Bieber or anything like that, but it just seems odd to have a Canadian pop star perform at an event like this. Plus, the dude has now matured to the point where his voice seems boring and monotone in every song you hear on the radio. Surely the Republican party wanted better performers for their biggest event so far in this cycle. #CanadianLivesDon’tMatter

Looking at Hillary right now is like eying that soft 6 who you know likes you… And you’re just giving it your all to find something redeeming about her… But you just can’t. The other option is the crazy bitch who might chop your balls off and sell it to Russia, so you just opt to get drunk and pretend it’s a dream.

Always find it funny that most of the time celebrities and most likely there team (Scooter Braun) are flaming liberals. They’re supporting the party that generally hates the 1%, and most of these jamokes fall into that category. Here take 50% of my salary and give it to failing social programs and the 40% of citizens on damn food stamps who refuse to get a job. Fucking idiots.

Hearing speeches from Navy SEAL heroes, well-respected sheriffs and conservative politicians doesn’t constitute a “shitshow”, chief.

If you’re picking local sheriffs instead of, you know, actual elected members of your party…thats what anyone in politics would call a shitshow.

Yeah but cmon. It’s a party convention, you don’t put anyone below a governor in primetime.

Apparently you didnt catch ok to this whole “anti-political establishment” thing.

They had alot of business executives in prime time. Business people > elected officials

Yeah except…you know I actually believe in the party of Reagan. Not whatever GDI bullshit the GOP has become.

You believe the establishment actually cares about you gumby? Hell no. I’d rather roll the dice with people who are saying what the majority of the country is saying than these professional politicians who cater to every single group out there. Everyone says this country is headed down the wrong path, we need someone different (Trump) than what we have normally been getting (the establishment) plain and simple. You may not like it, but that’s what has to be done.

Not when Trump throws a temper tantrum when he doesn’t get his way and starts WWIII. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to survive my four, hopefully 4.5 years of college…

I think they care a lot more about me than Trump does, plus they actually understand economics and foreign affairs. So yeah, give me the establishment any day, and save the party of Lincoln, Reagan and Bush from this incompetent orange buffoon

The GOP establishment are the ones who have strayed from the party of Lincoln and Reagan. Trump is trying to return the Republican Party to Nationalistic ideals and military strength, which is how Reagan won the Cold War.

Nope, it’s Trump who’s pissing on Reaganomics, while simultaneously shaking hands with our Cold War enemies.

Don’t tell me you’re one of those guys that talks up Reaganomics… You do realize Reagan racked up more National Debt than any president before him while expanding our Defense and lowering taxes, right?

“One of those guys who talks up Reaganomics” are you referring to every working person in America and everyone on this site?

Yeah, sure. Look, Reagan was a great president but people give him way too much credit for just about everything from the economy to foreign policy. Ever wonder why HW didn’t get re-elected? “Read my lips, no new taxes” from 1988 was meant to continue Reaganomics. HW quickly found out that the nation was sinking in debt due to the extremely low tax rates and high defense budget and therefore had to increase taxes and cede power to a Clinton presidency determined to drop military spending and help the lower classes.
