Lance Armstrong Drops Fight Against Doping Charges, Likely to Have All Tour de France Titles Stripped
From the Associated Press:
The decision sets up a likely lifetime ban from the sport and the possibility that Armstrong will be stripped of his signature achievement – the extraordinary run of Tour titles he won from 1999-2005.
Armstrong, who retired last year, declined to enter arbitration – his last option – because he said he was weary of fighting accusations that have dogged him for years. He has consistently pointed to the hundreds of drug tests that he has passed as proof of his innocence.
“There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, “Enough is enough.” For me, that time is now,” Armstrong said in a statement sent to The Associated Press. He called the USADA investigation an “unconstitutional witch hunt.”
“I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999,” he said. “The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense.”
USADA will almost certainly treat Armstrong’s decision as an admission of guilt, and hang the label of drug cheat on an athlete who was a hero to thousands for overcoming life-threatening testicular cancer and for his foundation’s support for cancer research.
Well…fuck. This would be more crushing if I still cared about cycling. Still, you’ve got balls ball to lie like that Lance. Big, brash, balls ball.
In other news, miracles DON’T happen.

I knew that one-nutted fuck was a lying, swindling cheater.
13 years ago at 8:35 pmCry about it pussy. I’d be surprised if less than 90% of pro athletes, especially cyclists, were not on PEDs
13 years ago at 9:22 pm^^ We don’t give a shit about your opinions, intern.
13 years ago at 1:38 pmFuck yourself intern he fought cancer. What have you ever done besides sorting through posts on your computer to put on fail friday and get coffee?
13 years ago at 11:30 am^^ To give the Intern credit, at least he did all those things with two testicles, and not as a one-nutted man-boy.
13 years ago at 12:11 pm*^
13 years ago at 12:11 pmnot surprising. in a sport where EVERYONE openly used PED’s, Lance wants us to believe that he was the ONLY one who didnt? oh, and he also happens to be the best of all time. ok bro, you were good but everyone calls bullshit.
13 years ago at 8:35 pmFERST!
13 years ago at 8:35 pmIt’s ok man, it happens to the best of us.
13 years ago at 10:15 pmUhh…you mean ball, right?
13 years ago at 8:37 pmI put a strike through just the “s” but it was too small to notice, changed it.
13 years ago at 8:46 pmHoly. Shit.
Wait, though. Is he admitting that he did it, or is he just saying he’s not fighting the charges (kinda like pleading No Contest)? There’s a distinction.
13 years ago at 8:38 pmnvm, Getting the gist it’s the latter.
13 years ago at 8:40 pmHe’s not admitting he did it, and I obviously don’t know the whole situation, but I can’t imagine just giving up defending your life’s work, your legacy, like that. Something’s up.
13 years ago at 8:48 pmIn a case where he has consistently proven there is no evidence showing guilt of accusations for more than a decade, yet being repeatedly charged, there has to be a limit to how much any one person can handle. He has spent millions in legal fees because of increasingly relentless organizations trying to slander his name and his life’s work.
13 years ago at 7:32 amThere has never been any evidence against him… He is basically telling them to go fuck off, and he has had enough of their crap.
13 years ago at 9:34 pmLike the article says. It’s a witch hunt to get this guy to confess to doping, and he won’t do it. I don’t know why he needs to do ANYTHING to defend himself now. If I were him, after my last tour I would have openly shot up steroids, heroine, ketamine, fucking pixie sticks, If they make it, I’d be straightlining it, and if anyone asked if you doped, I’d just point to the tape, yup, It’s all on camera.
13 years ago at 8:51 pmWhen someone has a testicle removed, testosterone therapy is part of the treatment. He had a medically precribed testosterone supplement that they say he abused and overused. But they dont have sufficient evidence to prove so because the doctor of a professional athlete is smart enough not to overdose his patient, and if so, it’s not all his fault. He’s not like an athlete who goes out of his way to go get HGH, he used the supplements he was prescribed to get back to a normal level and this committee is researching what “normal” really is, which is completely different for every single case… i agree it’s a witch hunt, their evidence is based on assumptions and not sound medical science. It’s not his fault he got cancer, and he did what the doctor told him to do in order to maintain the ability to remain somewhat normal while missing a nut and I ensure that his doctor told him that staying on a recumbent bike for 8 hours a day was fucking dumb and put insane stress on his body but he still did it because he’s a hard working American. They’re nitpicking his cancer treatment, that’s pretty low. Not to mention there’s probably a little bit of the governing authority thinking “oh shit, they’re finding out cycling is in no way interesting, exciting, or relevant to anyone outside of the sport, we need contreversy! Put some shit in the news!” I dont blame him for finally saying “I dont give a fuck about you people, now leave me alone.” Some Foreign cyclist’s pussy is just sore because America wins and found a way to challenge him- the courtroom. “Let’s attack the immensely successful multi-strain cancer survivor, he shouldn’t be as good as me!” And that’s all I have to say about that.
13 years ago at 8:59 pmExactly! the FBI probe couldn’t find anything on him so they sent the USADA and decided fuck due process, not to mention that the head of the USADA, who happens to function as judge jury and executioner, is one of the main people saying they believe he cheated, the claims are all horse shit.
13 years ago at 9:18 pmExactly, they are just looking for publicity. Even the judge that dropped his suit against the USADA wrote :”USADA’s conduct raises serious questions about whether its real interest in charging Armstrong is to combat doping, or if it is acting according to less noble motives,” such as politics or publicity.” Just give the fucking guy a break already.
13 years ago at 7:13 am^All of this. Everything brought against him is complete bullshit. I’ve followed this closely since the accusations started a decade ago. It’s an atrocious case that should never be admitted into a courtroom.
13 years ago at 7:35 amThis post is misleading, here is Lance’s full statements… if you’re interested.

Dammit Bacon, you are right. No one cares about cycling.
13 years ago at 10:57 pmI think what is shocking everyone right now is the fact that a professional athlete is juicing.
