Lena Dunham Is Offended By Kanye’s New Video, No One Gives A Shit

Comedienne Lena Dunham, aka the second unfunniest person in America (don’t worry, #1 is me) is making headlines for taking stray shots at Yeezus Christ himself.

Kanye’s bizarre and controversial music video (covered here at TFM) for his single “Famous” was released this week. The odd video features Kanye laying in bed, sleeping with a bunch (wax statue versions of) naked celebrities.

Not everyone is happy with Ye’s latest creation, as is evidenced by Lena Dunham’s recent furious Facebook post. It’s so long that it’s practically a novel, and she goes into deep detail about how outraged and disgusted she was by the video. Most of the people reading it shook their heads and yawned excessively.

Lena made a long stretch and tastelessly compared to the music video to recent headlines and tragedies involving the heinous actions of Brock Turner and Bill Cosby, then saying “Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women.” She went on, saying the video made her feel “sad and unsafe.” Aww, poor Lena.

This feels troubling to me. Don’t get me wrong, though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Lena Dunham having an opinion on this feels hypocritical. Solely because of Lena’s weird history of disgusting behavior. For those of you who don’t want to read the link, to put it lightly, Dunham literally admitted to sexually abusing her younger sister in her memoir, presenting it as just some silly thing she did because she’s goofy and neurotic. Her fans collectively decided this apparently just made her quirkier.

Well, I disagree, Lena. Don’t throw stones if you live in an unfunny glass house.
