Let’s Look At The USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll That Was Released Today

For the first time this college football season, we can finally let teams have bragging rights. Thanks to the 64 coaches who voted, we have our first look at a top 25 via the USA today poll. Here are the results.

Weird move to put Baylor at 21. Sure, they are in a little bit of legal trouble, but have you seen that offense? It’s still pretty deadly, and returns a Heisman candidate from last year at QB. Definitely should be ranked higher than teams like Georgia, Tennessee, USC, Washington, and North Carolina. Gotta think that vote is solely out of principle.

Speaking of Tennessee, let’s hear it for the Vols and their top 10 ranking (and even a first place vote from someone who was clearly on something when filling out their vote). Don’t get too used to it, though, Vols fans. We all know how this season is going to go.

I love preseason polls. It allows teams who had six losses the season before to be ranked in the top 20 because it’s all about that hype. Dan’s a little upset his upstart UCF Knights didn’t receive one vote, but he’ll be the first to tell you that they are winning at least nine games and upsetting Michigan in the Big House this season.

I’m sitting here typing this while watching ESPN show replays of last year’s NFL games. God, football can’t come soon enough.

    As much as I’d like to think Iowa will do well I think it will be a reverse rebound year for them and they’ll go back to being mediocre to good.

    Gonna be interesting to see who makes it into the playoffs out of those top 6 teams. Michigan should be a contender as well in a “top heavy” Big 10..
