This was the original flag burner after we won a rousing game of where’s waldo. The protester that instigated this mess was Ben Haas. I’m just clarifying.

Here is what happened. Alvarado cut down and burned the American Flag hanging in the parade grounds on LSU campus the night Osama was killed. He was arrested a few days later for destroying property among other things. Haas filed for a peaceful protest to burn a flag on the parade grounds and we were obviously not about to let that go down. Haas pussied out on burning the flag, but still showed up to issue some sort of statement. Well, when he showed up this is what happened…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUb_qvHX_wc . At about the 2 minute mark is when people start throwing piss balloons at him

Isaac Eslava cut down the University’s American Flag and burnt it the morning after Usama was killed and stole the state and university flag and was slapped with two felonies and 8 grand of damages. He is in jail now. Ben Haas planned to burn the flag in protest of Eslava getting the long dick of the law

The fact that LSU would have let a student burn an American flag in the first place is NF

Yea good call man. Find me a university in this country who doesn’t have at least one hippie liberal arts major who wouldn’t think to do this. Everyone has them, LSU just demonstrated how to handle them.

Misreading the post NF. My bad. It is pretty sickening that the university allowed this, but at least the student body didn’t.

Despite the fact that he is a worthless waste of life and should be deprived of the privilege it is to be an American, many brave American men and women have fought and died to give that commie his right to burn the flag. Before anyone says I am defending his actions be assured I think burning a flag is the most disrespectful and weak thing a person can do. I believe this to the point where I have thrown up from anger while watching some swine defile our flag.
It’s the soldier, not the reporter who has given us Freedom of the Press.
It’s the soldier, not the poet, who has given us Freedom of Speech.
It’s the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the Freedom to Demonstrate.
It’s the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the Right to a Fair Trial.
It’s the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag.
    -Father Dennis Edward O’Brien, USMC
I think about the words above everyday when a tie up my boots to serve honorably among many of Americas heros.

I agree completely but his right to burn the flag does not restrict our right to protest the burning of the flag. Both parties were in their own right we just were bigger.

The counter-protest is certainly allowed (I would’ve been there myself if this were my campus), but physical intimidation (e.g., “hazing” him) is not. NSP v. Skokie basically says that the state has to provide protection for expression of views likely to engender violence. I don’t know about what exactly went down at LSU, but it might be that he was deprived of this right.

He isn’t American and therefore, does not garner said rights. Fuck that fucking hippy and I wish slow death upon him

There were about 30 cops there and about 5 on horseback protecting him. We just yelled at him and some people threw water balloons and bottles at him. No one could get close enough to actually touch him
