Notice I said NCAA which was founded in 1906. Yale and Princeton won championships when St. Peter was the coach and Moses was the defensive coordinator.
Alabamas “championships” are no more legitimate than harvard or Yales. About half of them are from completely made up rankings. Two came after they lost their bowl game to an undefeted team. At least Harvard and Yale were actually the best team when they won the title, even if there were only 6 of them,
Actually, if you look at the actual NCAA record books, Oklahoma leads all teams with 16 “National Championships” if all schools were to claim championships in the same manner that Alabama does. However, since OU only claims AP titles, they claim to only have 7 National Championships.
The same ESPN that you area bitching about for claiming the SEC to be the greatest conference? Is ESPN right or wrong? Take your pick, can’t have it both ways, Big 12 homers.
I don’t have too much of an issue with ESPN. Saying the SEC is the strongest conference isn’t inaccurate, but I think they embellish the gap between the SEC and everyone else a tad too much. Besides that, they don’t really bother me. What does bother me is the complete lack of knowledge of history on this website when it comes to college football. Whether people want to admit it or not, college football did not begin in 1998 with the BCS era. Granted, the SEC has been dominant during this time frame. However, the Big Ten and former Big 8 could be argued (and rather easily) to be just as dominant during different eras of college football. It’s cyclical.
And oh yeah, Oklahoma is the greatest program of all time.
those prestige ranking were based on a computer formula comprised of championships, winning percentage etc. so they couldnt infuse any bias. but are really going to tell me that ESPN invests 1 billion dollars into the SEC and they dont have a stake in swaying favor toward the SEC? i dont think they need to do that because the SEC has been the best conference the past decade (although still not as good as SEC people think) but it definitely happens, and just look at how many analysts come from the SEC to ESPN.
Zero touchdowns. ZERO. Look at their completion percentages, Interceptions thrown. They kept the ball on the ground because they had to. Look at both teams passing offense before that game. The quarterbacks played like shit, all of them. Get over it kid.
Look you little fuckwad, Alabama v Ole Miss. 52-7. McCarron threw for one fucking touchdown. In 52 points scored, he could only manage to throw for one? He only has a 65% completion rate for the season. I’m not a fucking doctor, but 65% isn’t good. I’m right, you’re wrong, get the fuck out of my chair. DavidAllenBro lose the fucking hard on you have for Alabama and look at the numbers. Fucks sake.
^This is because we were beating the fucking shit out of Ole Miss. There is no reason to throw the fucking football when you have that big of a lead. Go fuck yourself.
“Geaux” fuck yourself, and I’m not necessarily saying that because I dislike LSU or the SEC, but just because I hate that horrible, inbred excuse for a word-play.
Clutchhhhhhhh
14 years ago at 7:50 amDon’t brag too much, pal. LSU has 3 national championships while Alabama leads the NCAA with 13.
14 years ago at 7:58 amFalse. Princeton and Yale both have double the number of national championships Alabama has. Suck that.
14 years ago at 8:49 amLeads active FBS teams*
14 years ago at 8:59 amAlso, Princeton and Yale went 1-1, 2-0, and 1-0 for like the first 30 years, because no one had football teams.
14 years ago at 9:01 amNotice I said NCAA which was founded in 1906. Yale and Princeton won championships when St. Peter was the coach and Moses was the defensive coordinator.
14 years ago at 9:08 amHe* and I won’t take a lap.
14 years ago at 9:09 amSome of those national titles Bama has are claimed.
14 years ago at 9:10 amAs are nearly all titles before 1990…The first 50 were decided by a historian in 1933.
14 years ago at 9:12 amonly ap titles count, bama has 8
14 years ago at 10:34 am^You are a dumbass. Kill yourself.

14 years ago at 2:39 pmwell yeah but lets not compare alabama to fucking Oklahoma, voted by ESPN as the number one college football program of all time.
14 years ago at 3:36 pmThe same ESPN that you area bitching about for claiming the SEC to be the greatest conference? Is ESPN right or wrong? Take your pick, can’t have it both ways, Big 12 homers.

14 years ago at 8:04 amOn both sides…
14 years ago at 2:01 pmImpressive game of field goals. So much kicking I thought I was watching soccer.
14 years ago at 9:09 amSoccer? I’m confused.
14 years ago at 9:24 amCouldn’t agree more. Pretty boring game. I get the whole defensive juggernaut thing, but zero touchdowns? All three quarterbacks played like shit.
14 years ago at 10:20 amActually no they didn’t. Facing down that speed and size coming at you makes it a bit difficult.
14 years ago at 11:19 amZero touchdowns. ZERO. Look at their completion percentages, Interceptions thrown. They kept the ball on the ground because they had to. Look at both teams passing offense before that game. The quarterbacks played like shit, all of them. Get over it kid.
14 years ago at 11:56 am^That is what happens when two very good evenly matched teams play each other dumbfuck.
14 years ago at 12:02 pmTwo evenly matched teams, who both don’t have a quarterback to save their life. And one of which doesnt have a kicker.

14 years ago at 2:25 pmThis davidallenbro guy needs to get a stronger depression medicine
14 years ago at 4:59 pmDid you just say a 65% completion rate is bad? I’m positive I didn’t just read that.
14 years ago at 7:07 amIf that was the “Game of the Century” then I want my hundred years back.
14 years ago at 10:17 amAgreed. ESPN over hyping games again.
14 years ago at 10:25 amI want my $200 and 6 hours back too.
14 years ago at 11:03 amIndian givers.

14 years ago at 4:03 pm^you mad bro?
14 years ago at 12:24 amif you think that it was 9-6 solely because of great D than your lying to yourself. two offenses with subpar playmakers and very average QBs.
14 years ago at 10:36 amThos etwo “subpar” offenses could stomp the shit out of just about anyone else snowflake. Check the schedules/rankings/standings.
14 years ago at 11:21 am^^then, not than. Learn Fucking grammar
14 years ago at 3:51 pmSubpar playmakers? WTF… You sir are an idiot. Both teams were averaging upper 30s in PPG coming in. Sorry we play defense champ… take a lap
14 years ago at 1:33 pmField Goals – NF
14 years ago at 10:40 amTouchdowns – FAF
Thank God you’re here to clear that up.
14 years ago at 11:04 amgive this man an award.
14 years ago at 1:09 pmImmovable object meets unstoppable force? Hardly. I almost fell asleep.
14 years ago at 11:05 amMoreover, to quote some ESPN hack “A punter shouldn’t be the best player on the field in a classic.”
14 years ago at 11:19 amsince when are the LSU football players in fraternities?
