Here's to expensive whiskey, cheap beer, new slams, high dividends, and Obama not being president. Happy New Year. TFM.

Just stop feeding this GDI troll and it’ll go away sooner or later. He just keeps doing it to get attention, which he is getting obviously.

      Mistake
      America…

So long as he’s our president, our country is screwed. He’s the one who managed to raise the salary of every person working on his staff to over $40,000, but at the same time only gave the US Military a 1.4% increase. I served in the Marine Corps for 5 years knowing full well when I joined that I had the option to make well over $100k annually by the age of 21 as a civilian. Our “American born” President has yet to enforce the deportation of his uncle who has been in the USA illegally for over 20 years. Politicians have always been corrupt, but anyone would’ve been a better leader than that geed.

Don’t get down on the GOP now boys! Once the republican nominee is appointed; the media will be forced to shift some scrutiny back on Obama and Americans will realize what an awful president he is. It’s not about liberal or conservative; this guy is simply not a leader!

The GOP is self destructing fast as fuck. Every nominee hates each other and no one can agree on anything. Good luck in the next election though

His staff gets $40k per year plus benefits…and the average military member makes $19-30k per year…see the difference now? people that kiss his ass on a daily basis get paid more then the ones who’ve volunteered their lives to protect the country.

      1. Change is NF

The average federal employee makes 75k plus benefits…40k is pretty low. And I agree that marines aren’t paid enough, but 40k isn’t much for staff

14 years ago at 5:16 am
    6. DixieFratStar08

First of all, it was stated that his staff’s salaries were RAISED by 40k a year, not that they only made that much. The reason the military shouldn’t get paid as much is for the same reason firemen, police, and teachers shouldn’t get paid a lot. Their jobs are vital to the country, and do we really want people in these jobs that are doing it JUST for the money? Do you have any idea how many cowardly soldiers we would have if the military offered attractive salaries? The brave men who serve our nation do so for that reason, to serve the nation. Although they deserve much more, we should take pride in them for defending the United States of America with only what they get.

You’re an idiot. “He’s the one who managed to raise the salary of every person working on his staff to over $40,000” The phrase used is “to over” which implies that now every one of his staff members make, at minimum, 40k/yr. Also, there are numerous jobs that would still out-earn a soldier should their salary be increased by any reasonable means. You will still see that people are not willing to put themselves through what these men go through for even said increased salary. These men make it through boot camp and into the service because they want to, not because they need money. Sure, does the percent chance you get money hungry teenagers joining the military increase when you bump a salary from 30k to 40 or 50k? Yes. Will they feel the same way they do after the shit they have to go through to make it to that salary? I like to hope not.

The fact that you’d like to hope not doesn’t make a damn bit of difference. Medical school is hard as hell, but there are doctors who have gone through it all for just the salary and that’s why not all doctors are good. If you think everyone in the military is brave, you obviously don’t know a large variety of people in the military. Those kids who weren’t worth shit and dropped out of high school to join the army aren’t worth a damn thing more when they leave basic. Trust me.

^Trust you??? I spent 5 years serving in the US Marine Corps. The men and women I served beside are ten times the man you will ever be. That may be how other services operate, but there are few incentives for our military to stay in rather then become “nasty civilians”…meaning someone like you. To disrespect our troops by saying they’re worth no more then when they dropped out of high school only speaks to your own character. I didn’t “drop out of high school” to join the military, I graduated from a private college prep school and decided after my first year at college that it wasn’t enough of a challenge. To think that you call yourself an American is a disgrace, and makes you sound like a geed. Go ahead, call me a GDI, I spent 5 years of my life serving our country so you could insult veterans like me, and I can still make an amazing sandwich for my man.

does securing our borders, protecting gun rights, stopping our unclear world police type foreign policy, and actually making a real attempt to cut down the national debt really sound like such a bad idea? Ron Paul 2012 ΛΧΑ.

How about not antagonizing the rest of the world into being angry at us? Did trying to conquer Iraq make our borders safer? I agree whole heartedly that we should have gone after Osama Bin Laden into Afghanistan because we do have to retaliate, but Iraq was us superimposing our will on other countries. Ron Paul for 2012

their is a difference between recognizing reality and hoping for an outcome. While I hope Obama will lose, the reality is he probably will win.

Well, if Newt gets the nomination, we can go ahead and make that toast to 4 more years of Obama. Paul and Huntsman are the only quality candidates. Everyone else is just getting our party laughed at by liberals and neutrals.

Ron Paul is the best candidate. People are scared that he won’t win so they won’t vote for him, but most conservatives and many liberals actually like him. If you vote for him, he will win. It’s that simple.

I feel as though because Ron Paul throws around the word “Constitution” his followers and others have come to believe that he actually fully embodies it more than anyone else, when the actual interpretation of the document has been debated and contested since its ratification. Saying Ron Paul protects the Constitution doesn’t even begin to delve into all the enumerated, implied, and precedent powers.
