There is nothing fratty about the Cubs OR the Sox. Chicago – NF, Illinois -NF, the North – NF.

It’s not about affordability, it’s about interest. There are no MLB teams anywhere in the old South (except Atlanta).

The South does however have a number of NFL teams, which are significantly more expensive franchises to operate.

Miami Marlins. Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Houston Astros. No teams in the south you say?

Not the Devil Rays anymore, sugar. Too many people bitched about the name, now it’s just the Rays.

JParksCaldwell1855 I see your point. But, NC has more minor league teams than any other state…and every city large enough to house a major league baseball team already has a AAA farm team in it. Except Raleigh, but the Durham Bulls are only like 10 miles away. There’s no excuse for SC not having one.
And you can’t get $1 beers at a major league game.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Carolinahaze must be the ignorant southern type. Chicago is one of the Frattiest cities around, not too mention one of the most expensive places to live. Your gated communities cost 2/3’s of a real home in the “NF” north. We may live above the MDL, but that means we are above the “property tax line” you poor fuck.

South Carolina has minor league teams also. Myrtle Beach’s team feeds the Ranger organization, the best team in the South right now.

FaFTexas, while St. Louis might not be in the old south, before the Braves moved to Atlanta St. Louis was the most southern team. Not only that, but the radio station that broadcast them reached into most of Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. A lot of older people in the south are Cardinal fans because of this.

KMOX reached the whole country, The Cardinals were the Southernmost and Westernmost team. That’s why there’s a lot of Cards fans in the South. Before the Rockies started playing in Colorado, that was Cardinal Nation. But also, the Cards had a lot of players from Dixie on the team. Dizzy Dean, Enos “Country” Slaughter, Pepper Martin and Alpha Brazle to name a few.

This is actually a feeble attempt. If any of you knew anything about how to throw a baseball, that’s the correct form at that part of the release. The rest of his motion is horrendous so a video comparison would have been better.

13 years ago at 9:57 pm
    1. Success

Actually, you troll wannabe, it is not correct form. Comrade Obama’s feet are all wrong. Obviously you’ve never thrown anything other than a hissy fit.

After pitching in college for 4 years, I believe that I have somewhat of a right to say that this picture is pretty valid. Obama has no stride whatsoever. Also, you can tell that he has relatively no momentum towards the plate. Bush, however is using the drop and drive method utilized by most power pitchers, (see Roy Oswalt). I would venture to say that Obama’s fastball wouldn’t penetrate a hymen. Bush’s form on the other hand says he knows what the fuck he’s doing.

So Beckett, a pitcher with a sub-3.00 ERA doesn’t know how to throw either?

But yeah I’m sure your D-III drunk ass pitching coach knew better.

I’m not saying Obama can throw. He can’t. But the pictures (which are taken at different points in the motion, making the comparison moot) don’t depict that.

13 years ago at 12:43 pm
    5. JohnCCalhoun

you’ve gotta be shitting me. I don’t care if you’re throwing a paper airplane, your motion at some point will look like Obama’s picture shown. It’s the angle of the picture. The only reason it’s similar to your Beckett photo is the angle. Look how Beckett is extended in his release. It’s called momentum. Now look at Obama. He’s almost standing straight up. He might as well be shooting free throws.

13 years ago at 3:50 pm
    6. Brother0micron

Haha he’s also not trying to throw a 94 mph fastball like Beckett. The picture of Obama and Bush can’t be compared because they are at different stages of the release. I get you allegedly played baseball. And I get you don’t like Obama, and want to make him look bad (a sentiment that we share). I’m melrely saying that it should be done justifiably and these pictures aren’t justifiable. If you read my first comment, I suggested a video comparison. That would be justifiable.

Alright Mr. Baseball, can you tell me, based on Bush’s arm placement, where that pitch would have ended up? (Relative to a righty of course, as if that needs to be stated.)
