Connecticut Is Building Gas Stations For The Rich

Gas stations are a crapshoot when it comes to who you may encounter. When I lived in Uptown, I would come across everything from Dallas athletes to high school acquaintances turned backpage prostitutes. There was no buffer between sports pros and average Joes. But now, in Greenwich, Connecticut, Guess Corp. has finally separated the affluent from the poor by building an ultra-luxury gas station only accessible to members who sport a net worth of $50M or more.

From Greenwich Time:

A valet and concierge will meet arriving visitors and the first level will host the convenience store and a dining room. Employees will service guests’ cars during their visit, which includes gas and a hand wash and wax.

Service will be limited to accepted GP Club members who meet the net worth requirement and pay an annual fee for the exclusive membership program. Taylor said the company’s policy prohibits it from disclosing the fee amount.

Members will have access to all GP clubs around the world in addition to 24-hour emergency roadside assistance and travel concierge support. Platinum-plated cards will allow members to charge all expenses to their account.

Finally. You know what’s been missing from this country? Luxury gas stations that only the rich can get into. It’s about time we never have to worry about going to get some gas and having the place shot up, or getting caught up in a potential drug deal gone wrong. Now we can finally keep the poor folk out.

The gas station is more than just a gas station. The place will have a waterpark, steakhouse, and luxury boutique for the ladies. Just what I need when I go get gas with my girlfriend. Hey babe, can you go grab me a Gatorade while I hit the bathroom? Only to find her with $1,000 worth of product when I come out.

In addition to Greenwich, Atlanta, Charleston, Orlando, Nashville, Arlington, and Beverly Hills will all be getting one of these things within the next year or so.

So it’s basically a club with a few gas pumps? Most clubs will detail and fill up your car while you play golf, it’s pretty much the same.
