Mark Cuban Shares His Surprising Take On Politically Correct College Students

Cuban
Mark Cuban is one of the smartest and coolest billionaires out there. Not only did he play the dot com bubble like a fiddle in the ’90s, but he continues to cash in on the tech industry to this day.

One of Cuban’s current tech ventures is Cyber Dust, a Snapchat-esque social media app that self-destructs texts and media messages after a few moments. Cuban is accessible on the app so an Independent Journal reporter reached out to get his take on this PC epidemic.

Cuban’s response was different from most, oddly sensible and somewhat satisfying:

From Independent Journal:

“They are in college. They are supposed to be idealists. That doesn’t make them incapable of adjusting.

Every kid who participated in a 60s sit in didn’t turn into a radical incapable of life. Every kid who reached sex, drugs, and rock and roll didn’t turn into an incompetent adult.

The bigger shock is how the kids of the 70s turned into the leaders of the Republican Party : )

Essentially, The Cubes is saying the world’s not coming to an end because of PC douchers. Instead, this is the millennial’s version of drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll.

Think of all the fun those protestors are missing out on.

Cuban’s remarks are tough to argue with. The business world is filled with people who did things in college they may or may not regret today and that includes sit-ins. Still, they’ve adjusted to today’s business world because if you initiate a sit-in at work, you get fired and don’t get paid. That’s capitalism, son.

For Cuban’s full response, including his take on journalist-shover Melissa Click (who is still employed at Mizzou by the way), head to the Independent Journal’s site.

If it was up to the politically correct people Mark Cuban would 1) have to change his last name because its offensive to people of Cuban descent. 2) give away all his money to the point that he is in the bottom 1%. 3) be banned from speaking because dissent can not be tolerated.

He can compare the 60s hippies to today’s college crowd all he wants, but the people in the 60’s weren’t advocating for a totalitarian government where rights are suppressed and uniformity is forced. No, those people back then were hoping for the removal of such laws (albeit in some really idiotic ways) that these PC people want to put back in place.

I agree whole heartedly with the first paragraph, but would disagree with your second. The vast majority of the hippies from the 60’s were far left liberals, who wanted a communal society that promoted socialism and communism. The values of 60’s hippies and the modern PC crowd are one in the same. These people will go on to become unproductive members of society, and total losers.

Have a different opinion does not equate to “knowing more”. What an idiotic response.

I meant about the subject. I figured people would be smart enough to realize “within the context of the conversation” but you proved me wrong.

Wtf? I clearly understood it was in the context of the conversation, I’m commenting on the fucking conversation. Were you deprived of oxygen at birth boy?

I got a little wordy but what I meant was that they were atleast trying to make society more open and free while these people today are trying to restrict freedoms.

If you look into “the weathermen” they promoted violence and killing people. They were a group of hippies who actually become domestic terrorists. Obviously very few hippies were violently, but you can’t have a free culture, when theres a massive amount of wealth redistribution. Which is something hippies and the PC both want.

TL:DR, The hippies sucked, and so does PC culture.

Both Hillary and Obama have ties to the “Weather Underground” organization. They’re both extremists and should be in jail.

Also consider that neither major political party (or their leaders) publicly supported the Yippies, Black Panthers, SDS, etc.

Today’s Democrat party has absotely embraced the radical messaging of Occupy, #BLM, and campus morons everywhere. Obama and his band of merry community organizers are gleefully using the bully pulpit to normalize the extreme.

Are you dumb? The video of Obama calling out college students being offended by words has been posted on this very website. He called out the Mizzou ‘protesters’ for trying to shut down opposing speech. (I am not an Obama defender, I am an Obama hater. But I am a also a fact defender).

Steve jobs was a hippy, and I think most would say he turned into a very productive member of society.

I honestly think the PC crowd is far worse than hippies. Whether we can owne up to it or not VIetnam was a bad war. It had little point, it hurt the United States reputation , and most importantly 50,000 Americans were killed and contless others left homeless and disabled. Were the hippies pieces of shit…yes. However at least thier protests had some merit. They did not believe in foreign aggressions to appease lobbyists. With that being said the PC crowd opposes things like words and microaggressions. Protesting vidoe games and interntet free speech. I consider taht much more harmful toward the well being of society.

That I agree with. What I did not agree with was Booze_Hound’s insinuating that these people do not have the potential to become better people. Look at me, I just made Exec. (How the fuck that happened I’ll never know).

Eric Cartmen must have taught you a lot about hippies. You seem really smart. I mean, you formed your whole opinion on a complex issue, in an era you didn’t experience, purely by using stereotypes. Fuck books and actual critical thought you got this whole life thing figured out, mwn

You think the goal of PC people is to establish a totalitarian government and force uniformity? One, you give them way too much credit by saying they actually are attempting to achieve something besides getting offended and shaming others. I’ve never seen PC people even mention forms of government and advocating uniformity would deeply offend them, but I guess everything does. Two, go back to your 9/11 was an inside job club.

I disagree with this. The nature of these “phases”is very different than previous kinds. If you wanted sex, or drugs, or rock ‘n’ roll, nobody else’s life was affected at all. However, despite this group being what he describes to be as nothing to worry about, there is quite a bit of traction. Though many aren’t joining up with them, many are acting under their influence. With technology supplying these keyboard warriors with the means to reach the entire world, they are everything but a phase.

The druggies and 70s kids weren’t ruining the entire social landscape for everyone else by bullshitting their way through an understanding of first amendment protected speech.
