McDonald’s And Starbucks Are Blocking Porn Sites On Their WiFi, I’ll Be Taking My Business Elsewhere
Restaurant chains Chick-fil-A and Panera Bread have blocked access to pornographic sites on their Wifi connections, and McDonald’s and Starbucks are now following suit. Both stores are using filtering technology to ensure that customers won’t be able to access the sites.
From The Christian Science Monitor:
The move is the result of a campaign from anti-pornography groups Enough is Enough (EIE) and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE). EIE launched the “National Porn Free Wi-Fi” campaign in the fall of 2014, with nearly 50,000 petitions and 75 partner organizations urging McDonald’s and Starbucks to block pornography from their public Wi-Fi.
EIE President Donna Rice Hughes called the recent announcement a “huge victory.”
“Parents can have peace of mind that, when they or their children go to McDonald’s, they will have a safer and more friendly Wi-Fi experience, filtered from pornography, from child porn and from potential sexual exploitation and predation,” she said in a statement on Wednesday, following the announcement from McDonald’s.
I have been silently protesting Chick-fil-A ever since they’ve made their decision to block porn, which has been really tough. As for Panera, well, it’s hard to get a boner when you just spent twelve dollars on half a sandwich and a previously canned soup. To hear that MacDon’s and Starbs have followed suit by blocking porn is a really tough thing, and I’ll have to learn to deal with this by taking it one day at a time.
Some might say it’s wrong to be openly aroused and perusing lewd sites in a fast food eatery, but my question is this: If it’s so wrong, then why have I never been caught? If I were to make a list of the most un-American dining establishments in this great nation of ours, the four aforementioned ones would round out the top 4. To McDonald’s and Starbucks, the latest restaurants to adopt this Orwellian nightmare of a regulation, I SCOFF AT YOU. Looks like the McGangBang is only a mere sandwich now..
