MDMA Could Soon Be Legalized As A Way To Treat PTSD
I’ll be honest — I did not see this one coming. MDMA, a.k.a Molly, a.k.a. that ecstasy that you can’t leave home and go to an EDM show or club without, could be legal in the United States as soon as 2021 as a way to treat people with PTSD. Finally, you’ll be able to roll your balls off safely and effectively.
“The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the green light to phase three trials of MDMA to treat post-traumatic stress disorder, the final phase of validation required to turn the party drug into a legal medicine.
The treatment involves giving patients the drug just three times – once a month – during long talking therapy sessions, interspersed with weekly sessions without the drug. Early trials of the drug, currently listed as a schedule 1 substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration along with heroin and cocaine, have shown encouraging results for patients with treatment-resistant PTSD.
“Moving from phase two to phase three shows we have strong scientific reason to believe that MDMA is an effective treatment for PTSD in therapy. The fact the FDA is ready to move forward with phase three signals that they agree,” said Brad Burge, from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (Maps), a not-for-profit based in Santa Cruz, California, that has spearheaded efforts to turn MDMA into a medicine.”
So they’re not testing this drug out by giving it to people along with a pair of tickets to see Marshmello? Hmm. Well, color me a bit surprised and disappointed.
Something tells me Molly could be the new Adderall or weed before too long. MDMA is around right now but it’s not nearly as prevalent as either of those. Probably because bad Molly is horrible for you and can put holes in your brain. HAHAHAHA. But really. At least, if it’s legalized, it’d be some good, pure shit. My God, think of what actual scientists — and not just some state school chemistry major dropout who read too much philosophy and likes EDM wayyyyy too much — could make. Yeah, I guess it’ll be hard to have post-traumatic stress when you’re too busy cumming every time you touch anything.
Obviously nobody wants to get diagnosed with PTSD. It’s a horrible, horrible disorder that I don’t wish on anyone, especially our veterans. But I’m starting to get the vibe that it could be the new ADHD or “anxiety” before too long, with people basically asking to get diagnosed with it (and the doctors happily obliging) in order to get free pills.
“Oh, what’s that? You almost fell down the stairs and now you’re having nightmares about it. Here’s a handful of outrageously potent molly. Feel better!”
I’ve seen people do much more to get their dogs certified as a “service animals” and, while pups are cute and all, they’re no where as addicting as some good drugs.
I’m looking forward to what 2021 has in store. Probably some hella great raves I’d assume..
