VIDEO: Washington Sports Anchor Chugs Drink, Tells America’s Children To Give Up On Dreams After Caps Loss
On Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals 4-3 in overtime to eliminate the Caps from the NHL Playoffs. It was an absolutely brutal loss if you’re a caps fan. For me, it was a rollercoaster of emotions, as I watched my Pens take a 3-0 lead, incur stupid penalties, lose the lead, and then win in overtime.
While I spent the night celebrating, folks in Washington spent the night drinking away their sorrows. This included Michael Jenkins, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s sports anchor, who poured himself a tall glass for their show and gave kids a hard dose of reality.
“You like to drink? I like to drink, and I’m going to drink the whole show.”
Jenkins isn’t the hero we deserve, but he’s the hero we need..
biggest power move in the history is sports broadcasting or in recent memory
9 years ago at 10:20 amAs a sports journalism major, I aspire to reach this level of greatness
9 years ago at 10:40 amYou can major in that? Wow.
9 years ago at 7:28 pmBetween him and Schilling, I’m not sure which way I’d rather go out as a broadcaster. Both are power moves in their own right, either telling the trans community to go fuck themselves, or having no shame and getting drunk on-air after your favorite team just lost a series they should’ve won.
9 years ago at 10:40 amCurt Shilling is a fucking idiot
9 years ago at 10:52 amYou’re entitled to your own opinion, much like Curt is.
9 years ago at 10:53 amHe is entitled to his own opinion, as well as the consequences to publicly voicing an opinion that ESPN decided was harmful to their brand after warning him about his social media use twice before
9 years ago at 11:18 amRick ‘Never Sober’ Sutcliffe is another blue ribbon broadcaster
9 years ago at 11:43 amIf ESPN had more guys like this and less of those boring plastic fogeys, I guarantee they wouldn’t lose so much money every year.
9 years ago at 10:46 amTaken aback by the magnitude of this power move.

9 years ago at 11:06 amFuck the Capitals. You’d think I would learn, but they continue to break my heart year after year.
9 years ago at 11:53 amAt least we can enjoy the Nats for a full season before they inevitably choke.
9 years ago at 1:00 pmIt’s a never ending cycle of disappointment. Still haven’t gotten over 2012 with the RG3 playoff ACL tear, Storen blowing a 4 run lead against the Cardst to lose the series, and the Caps blowing their series lead against the Rangers.

9 years ago at 1:46 pmOne hell of a series, though. That might as well have been the finals. I really hope the pens don’t overlook tampa. it’d be all too easy to suffer some kind of emotional let – down after that series.
9 years ago at 2:27 pmDC proper and proud to be raised an Orioles fan. Because fuck the Nats.
Enough disappointment already. There’s more to life than wining the pennant or being regular season champs. Just not in DC.
9 years ago at 2:22 amHe clearly has the best team that does not support but rather encourages him to chugg his drink. This ladies and gents is why Washington fought the british. #Murica
