Mizzou Chancellor Thinks This Photo Of Georgia Fans Holding A Confederate Flag On Mizzou’s Campus Is Threatening

Pictures of fraternity alumni from back in the day are the best. No one seemed to care that you were getting trashed on the lawn or smokin’ a doobie in the middle of the day. It just happened.

I bring this up because a photo recently featured in a tweet has caused a bit of a stir.

The photo appears to show five University of Georgia guys standing on a Phi Kappa Theta sign on the Mizzou campus holding a Georgia Bulldogs flag, an American flag, and, here’s the kicker, a Confederate flag.

BUM BUM BUMMMM!!!!

The photo caught the eye of Mizzou’s chancellor R. Bowen Loftin who released the following statement:

“Especially considering recent events in South Carolina concerning the Confederate flag, this photo may be considered offensive and possibly even threatening to some of our community members. MU officials do not condone any activities that could threaten the safety of our community.”

Easy there, B. Lof. Down boy.

The photo is reportedly from 2012 when Georgia initiated Mizzou into the SEC by hazing the shit out of them for four straight quarters. I was there. It wasn’t pretty. At the time, no one would’ve batted an eye at some assumed Georgia fraternity men waving a Confederate flag, but times have changed. I get it.

Now, if they’re waving the flag and chanting “they took our jerbs!,” then yeah, I’d be concerned.

That being said, I have a few issues with the photo…

First off, only two embroidered pairs of pants per group of 10. Three out of five is a ridiculous ratio.

Second, I love my brothers from other chapters around the nation, but if you’re coming to try and beat my school in football, then don’t stand on my shit.

It turns out this whole scenario is just the result of bad timing. Mizzou’s student newspaper, The Maneater, spoke with the guy who runs the Twitter account who said they use a third-party system, and that tweet was probably added in the queue around January or February.

Loftin’s original statement has been taken down from the Mizzou website and replaced with an updated version, saying the school won’t be taking any further action.

Now he can get back to making ludicrous rules for Greek houses. All is well.

Most media coverage on the Confederate flag and the Confederacy is infuriatingly biased and narrow minded

They literally have 18 members at UGA….that explains the ungodly high embroidered pants ratio.

Ever since this whole anti Southern anti anything that even remotely has a connection with the Confederacy I’ve been having a recurring nightmare that KA parted ways with Robert E Lee and while I hope and pray it doesn’t happen I’m not sure.
