Janna Basler, Director of Greek life at the University of Missouri, has been placed on administrative leave for her actions at the protest.

Her administrative leave was announced earlier today by Mark Lucas, Director of the Department of Student Life. Basler will be relieved of her duties while the department conducts an investigation.

Basler came under a lot of criticism for her actions in the protest, which were captured on a video of student journalist Tim Tai being pushed out of the tent village for trying to photograph the demonstration. Basler, along with Communications Professor Melissa Click, urged the students to prevent Tai from exercising his First Amendment right.

Basler can be seen getting in Tai’s face at around 2:18. She pushes him, he says, “Ma’am, don’t push me,” to which she cleverly replies, “YOU don’t push ME.”

Give her the boot.

Honestly, that man deserves an award for maintaining his composure throughout all of that. I find it really funny how these jackasses tried to use intimidation and force to keep this guy from exercising the same basic rights they are. It’s asinine. The protestors are starting to show their true colors; they want everything their way and are not afraid to mow other people down to get it. Fuck mutual respect. Fuck empathy. Fuck giving a shit about anybody but themselves. If they truly wanted equality, then they should start by practicing what they preach. Fucking hypocrites.

The students are protesting because they have a fucking right to do so. Why is everyone on this website against it if it’s not violent. Just as you have a right to hateful free speech, they have a right to protest when they think something isn’t being handled well. The president of the university was not good at handling many situations, not just the race ones. Yes this has turned into a shit show, but that’s because of people on yik yak and BS

Why would someone this belligerent be put in charge of ANYTHING in the first place?

Love how these left wing liberals are verbally abusive and overtly aggressive but one person says the smallest thing that’s slightly offensive and they turn Into the most sensitive group out there.

I go to Mizzou, I work with Janna directly. SHE DOES NOT DESERVE THIS. She has a protective personality and will always stand up for people and things she believes in. She shouldn’t have put herself in this situation, but she is amazing and has done fantastic things for our Greek life system (27% of our school of 35000). She was standing with the president of a black fraternity in the video and doing what she thought was right, along with a lot of other faculty. Don’t pass judgment about things you are uneducated about.

Watching this video, nobody would think she has a clue what she’s doing and she 100% appears to deserve this, on account of the touching the student, and her INSANELY clever retort of “you don’t touch me” after she initiated contact with him.

That’s exactly what those fuckers in the video are doing. They’re passing judgment on the student whom they don’t know. So she totally deserves this because she is a moron.
