Mizzou Receiving Less Applications After All That Safe Space Bullshit They Pulled

Remember all those fun campus protests that were all the rage last semester? You know, the ones that were for the most part really stupid and based on lies and scapegoats? The ones that nobody cares about anymore because they are no longer hip, trendy, and demonstrative of how forward-thinking you are? Well, as it turns out, they’re still making an impact on the universities at which they occurred.

Mizzou, the de facto protester home base, is being hit especially hard. The school has actually seen a dip in applications as a result of the protests.

Early reports indicate a downward trend in applications to enroll at MU for the fall semester.

The decline in numbers was attributed, at least in part, to the recent campus protests centered on race.

“While we don’t have any clear data, we know that the events this past fall have had an impact, and we are answering any questions that parents and students have about those events,” Director of Admissions Chuck May wrote in an email.

Applications to study at MU through December decreased by 941 compared to the same time in 2014, according to a report dated Monday from the MU Office of Enrollment.

The total of 18,377 applications represents a 4.87 percent decline compared to the previous year, according to the report.

Applications from black students, however, have not dropped 19 percent, as has been reported by some news media. The figure is actually about 3.3 percent, according to the MU News Bureau.

That’s gotta hurt. While 4.87% isn’t a huge number, and there is still plenty more time for people to apply to the university, I’d already chalk this one up as a moral defeat. These kids aren’t just not enrolling at Mizzou, they aren’t even applying. They’re essentially saying “I already know Mizzou sucks, so I’m not even going to give it a shot.” That’s gotta smart.

I can’t really blame the high school senior squad. Who would want to go to a school capable of that trash? For a few weeks there, saying you went to Mizzou was no longer a point of pride. In an attempt to better the school, some of its own students ruined the university’s reputation by trying to enact change in the wrong way. I understand these kids’ decisions to not apply, but part of me wants everything involving Mizzou to go back to normal so that we can forget that whole fiasco ever happened.
