Muschamp, New Head Coach: “Gamecock Nation, if you don’t think I can recruit, look at her and then look at me.”

Yesterday, South Carolina officially announced Will Muschamp as the new head football coach. Since the former Gators defensive coach is replacing the legendary Steve Spurrier, he’s got some big shoes to fill, not only in terms of coaching ability, but in terms of dropping fire one-liners — and the new guy came out swinging.

The Gamecock football team fell from its glory days — three 11-win seasons in a row from 2011 to 2013 — because they slacked off on recruiting. They got lazy while the rest of the SEC got to work. Maybe this is because Spurrier let his son handle recruiting, but either way, Muschamp assured his new fans that his ability to reel in top talent won’t be an issue.

Is there something to be said for a man’s recruiting abilities if his wife is a dime piece?

Back in his Vanderbilt days, Penn State Head Football Coach James Franklin seemed to think so.

“I’ve been saying it for a long time, I will not hire an assistant coach until I’ve seen his wife. If she looks the part, and she’s a D-I recruit (one of the nation’s best-of-the-best), then you got a chance to get hired. That’s part of the deal.”

But here’s the thing: Muschamp has an overall 28-21 record as a head coach. So yeah, Muschamp, you recruited a hot wife, but if you want to continue with this coaching analogy, does that mean you’re completely incapable of getting her off?

From the pic it looks like she has a small black arm, although muschamp would be into that.

I’m sure his recruiting of his hot wife had nothing to do with the amount of nice things he could buy her as a head football coach. He should do just fine recruiting in the SEC then.

“On December 11, 2010, Florida named Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp as the Gators’ new head coach.” The first line on wikipedia…how did you fuck that up?
