No Biggie But Adderall And Meth Are Basically The Exact Same Thing

According to Carl L. Hart, a psychiatry professor at Columbia University, methamphetamine and d-amphetamine (better known as “Adderall”) are “virtually identical.”

From The Influence:

In our study, we brought 13 men who regularly used methamphetamine into the lab. We gave each of them a hit of methamphetamine, of d-amphetamine, or of placebo on separate days under double-blind conditions. We repeated this many times with each person over several days and multiple doses of each drug.

Like d-amphetamine, methamphetamine increased our subjects’ energy and enhanced their ability to focus and concentrate; it also reduced subjective feelings of tiredness and the cognitive disruptions typically brought about by fatigue and/or sleep deprivation. Both drugs increased blood pressure and the rate at which the heart beat. No doubt these are the effects that justify the continued use of d-amphetamine by several nations’ militaries, including our own.

And when offered an opportunity to choose either the drugs or varying amounts of money, our subjects chose to take d-amphetamine on a similar number of occasions as they chose to take methamphetamine. These regular methamphetamine users could not distinguish between the two. (It is possible that the methyl group enhances methamphetamine’s lipid-solubility, but this effect appears to be imperceptible to human consumers.)

It is also true that the effects of smoking methamphetamine are more intense than those of swallowing a pill containing d-amphetamine. But that increased intensity is due to the route of administration, not the drug itself. Smoking d-amphetamine produces nearly identical intense effects as smoking methamphetamine. The same would be true if the drugs were snorted intranasally.

So basically the only reason the effects of meth are greater than the effects of Adderall is because meth is commonly smoked, whereas Adderall comes in pill form. It’s about how it’s ingested. If Adderrall was smoked, it would be just like you’re smoking meth. It’s the same shit. Wild.

Just something to think about for all you dopers out there who are reading this. Have fun hanging out in the library and popping meth pills just to pass your classes, you meth freaks. You take meth. Think about it. It’s meth. You do meth. Think of your mother. She’d be so disappointed. Look at yourself in the mirror. You’re looking at a meth head doper pill-popping loser druggie. You do meth. Just saying.

Charted my GPA after starting to take Adderall daily and it was, on average, .6 points higher. Of course, I did all of this in the name of science.

You don’t want to because of all the binders in it. You could purify it, but you are going to lose a significant amount of the amphetamine unless you really know what you’re doing.

Crazy to think that some Dr. at Columbia is out here legally giving junkies their meth fix in the name of science.

If this is true, why isn’t the state of Florida filled to the brim with smart people?

It’s obviously never going to be healthy for anyone but the original article also explains how anti-drug campaigns have done what Dildo Cheverererer just did, making dramatic associations on the basis that meth is only used by white-trash losers. In fact meth has been used in pill form by the US military and several other nations. The Germans also used it during their European blitzkrieg, which went very well for them for several years. The modern German military just recently switched to using modafinil. My grandfather is from Britain and piloted a light, unarmed recconaissance plane during the cold war. He would be given 2 pills of amphetamine salts each flight because he would often be in the air 9+ hours at a time. I’m all for anything that keeps pilots and our military sharp and dominant.
