Obama Puts Heckler In His Place After Interrupting White House Event

    1. The Sixth Year

Power moves are power moves. No one is saying the guy is a great president. If you are a true American you will respect the American power moves on both sides of the aisle.

I agree but the way Obama handled it was not a power move, it was a limp wristed timid request that was about as unmanly and unprofessional as it comes. Hell Obama even started apologizing while he was making his “power move”

The President of the greatest country in the world personally kicking someone out of his house will always be a power move.

Traditionally, however, the White House has been called the “people’s house” – and even first lady Michelle Obama has referenced it that way. On the White House website, a quote from the first lady states: “This is really what the White House is all about. It’s the ‘People’s House.’ It’s a place that is steeped in history, but it’s also a place where everyone should feel welcome. And that’s why my husband and I have made it our mission to open up the house to as many people as we can.”

I think you just can’t accept that Obama was a badass here. Why don’t you show respect where respect is due?

Calhoun was a nationalist, who favored a strong national government, then switched sides and was pro-slavery (not states right slavery) and was the biggest name to push for succession for all intents and purposes he’s a coward and a traitor. You are idolizing a a spineless joke. Like him or not Obama had won the presidency twice so respect a winner.

      7. John C. Calhoun

Yes he was pro slavery just as were many other people during his time. I guess we should just take George Washington of the $1 bill since he owned slaves. Coward how? Traitor no. He helped develop a procedure for states to use their power of interposition. He suggested a state should first call a convention to consider any federal action in question. If the convention determined that the action violated its understanding of the Constitution, then it could declare the action ‘null and void,’ denying the federal government the power to execute the law within that state. The federal government would then have to either amend the Constitution to legitimize its action or repeal the measure. And if the Constitution was amended in a way the state considered unacceptable, the state had the right to leave the Union. In developing the concept of nullification, Calhoun did not intend to encourage states to secede. He sought only to give them a way to ensure a strict interpretation of the Constitution and lead the nation away from ‘the dangerous and despotic doctrine of consolidation’ and back to ‘its true confederative character.’ This was especially important for the minority South. He grew opposed to the federal government when they started creating tariffs that were hurting the southern economy. He died 11 years before the war even broke out. Stop talking out your ass and read up. Calhoun was also voted top 5 greatest senators by the senate.
Yet you idolize a terrible president who if not for his assassination would have gone down as one of the worst president. JFK won because he looked better than Richard Nixon on television. Obama won the presidency twice because the majority of Americans are dumb.

        1. JFK is one of the GREATEST presidents of all time, Nixon was almost impeached so was it really just because he looked better? the 1970s were some of the hardest times in the last 60 years vs JFK who stopped a nuclear war…. you cant claim the one debate that people refernceto say “he won because he looked better” he won because he won a majority of votes, simple as that. Obama won because people wanted him as president, Do i think McCain may have been a better candidate probably, but you put a rich mormon white guy against a toddler who still shits itself , that toddler has my vote. Romney was a joke. and Obama is a better vote then Hilary.

Saying Obama is better than Hillary is like saying syphilis is better than aids. JFK is the best president of all time? You’re a real comedian. JFK died in 1963 so he did not even live in the 70s moron. That just tells me that you know absolutely nothing. The cuban missile crisis is directly linked to Bay of Pigs and Kennedy putting missiles in Turkey. Cuba was afraid that the US would try to invade again so they went to the Soviets. Kennedy also is responsible for US getting involved in Vietnam. You don’t like Romney because he is a rich white mormon. JFK was a rich white catholic. At least Romney earned his money. JFK was hooked on painkillers as well. You sound like you are in high school.

How much money a candidate has, gender, race or their religious affiliation should not matter when choosing a president. I want the best candidate to win regardless of their party. Honestly a candidate who has more money in my eyes could have a benefit because they cannot bet bought or manipulated by lobbyist.

Yep. Elect the person who presided over the collapse of US-Russia relations and paved the way for the resurgence of al Qaeda and the genesis of ISIS, just because she has a vag. Great political reasoning.

Considering that Obama has been in office for six years, and we didn’t pull out of Iraq until 2011, there’s no possible way that Bush could have supplied al Qaeda or ISIS while he was in office. Such a move would have been inconsistent with the fact that Bush was personally invested in the war because of an Iraqi assassination attempt on his father. Why would he give material support to a belligerent who had attempted to assassinate his father?

How? Syria didn’t rebel until 2011. Bush was out of office since January 20, 2009.

Nice reasoning. Under that logic, I could imprison every black or Muslim male in the United States simply because they are statistically more likely to become criminals. Applying this reasoning to international relations is dangerous at best, and borderline suicidal at worst.

Okay obviously Bush didn’t do 9/11 and isn’t a war criminal that’s absurd. That said, invading Iraq was a bad idea and how we handled the power vacuum that exist after kicking out Saddam contributed to the rise of ISIS. Because we took all Sunnis out of power and replaced them with Shias and they hate each other, Shias started to oppress the Sunnis in the same way Sunnis had repressed them for years. ISIS is a a radical Sunni group formed in opposition to the current Shia government. Sorry for the long response, but the actual history here is pretty clear.

How can we respect the office when it has been brought down, made into a mockery, and debased to the lowest common denominator in attempts to be “hip”? There is no respect left in that office.
