Obama Visited Campus of University of Wisconsin, Football Coach Bret Bielema Had No Idea
President Obama pulled his tail out from between his legs after the Debate and headed to Madison, Wisconsin to get in touch with some first-time Wisky voters. Now, the last time our president made a stop in Austin, TX, the town was in a frenzy. The local news went ape shit, people were swinging from the rafters, and the streets downtown basically shut down for a couple days. It was chaos. It’d actually be pretty cool if you didn’t return, el Presidente. I like being able to drive about my town freely. Now, the population of Austin is about five times that of Madison.
It’s safe to assume it was a pretty big deal for this quiet Wisconsin university town. Head football coach Bret Bielema had more important shit to be concerned with, though.
Bielema was asked about the president being on campus and had a bewildered look on his face.
“President of our …?” he said.
“I have no idea what’s going on.”
Why would you, Bret? You have a damn football team to coach. Why bother with mundane details like the leader of the free world visiting your small town?
“Oh, he’s giving a speech, is he? About what? The election? Pffff. Is this Obama character covering the topic of how to combat the Illini 3-4 defense, or how to get a release off their outside press coverage? Huh? Didn’t think so. Kindly leave my office.”
