Ohio University Acacia Suspended For “Send Nudes” Serenade
Last week, we reported that a fraternity’s rendition of the classic Beatles song “Hey Jude” outside the Alpha Delta Pi house was starting to stir the outrage pot at Ohio University. Some senior journalism major, unaffiliated with the two organizations, walked by, saw it as her career launching “gotchya” moment, and recorded seven seconds of Acacia serenading the ADPis with the lyrical fire that was “Send nudes, don’t let me down. Take my soft dick and make it harder.”

She filmed, uploaded, posted, and shared all without asking questions. Journalism! Real tight ship they’re running over at The Post.
“Look at these misogynistic pigs perpetuating rape culture. Disgusting.”
Or, you know, it was just a humorous dirty song that the girls were probably laughing at throughout. ADPi did in fact tell The Post that the video was taken out of context in case it wasn’t already obvious enough. But I guess I’m giving people too much credit, as Ohio University has since put Acacia on suspension pending a further investigation into this harmless, playful song.
How this is even news to begin with is beyond me. Fraternities have been serenading sororities with songs like this since the dawn of the Greek system. I, myself, brought down many a house with my brothers and our angelic remixes of “Fuck You Gently” and “Inside Of You.” The girls we sang to weren’t appalled or outraged. They laughed and even gave us standing ovations on occasion. But hey, let’s just overlook any detail that doesn’t fit with the “fraternities are vile, entitled monsters” rhetoric..

10 years ago at 11:40 amIs that all it takes to get suspended? Greek life is going to be a thing of the past in 15 years
10 years ago at 11:28 amMaybe at private universities, but at public schools we have the right to associate. We may be going underground, but we aren’t going anywhere.
10 years ago at 11:37 amGoing underground will kill all the things that make fraternities what they are. They will become groups of guys that only throw parties, and that’s it. I don’t know of any unrecognized organizations that do charity work, for example. The ironic thing, is the PC culture is turning fraternities into that exact thing that they say they are by forcing them underground.
10 years ago at 12:14 pmThat is their best option to stay together and get the college experience they thought they were going to get
10 years ago at 12:20 pmExcept for the fact that the oldest fraternities all began underground because Greek organizations used to be grounds for expulsion for students in them. How can you say that fraternities will die when you don’t even know the history of the Greek system?
10 years ago at 12:21 pmI never said they would die, just change for the worse. Also, what year is this? It’s not the 1860s anymore, things are vastly different.
10 years ago at 12:35 pmMy chapter was forced to go underground and after a rough start is doing very well. Philanthropy is alive and well, too. Not saying that’s always the case but we’re doing very well now.
10 years ago at 12:37 pmOhio University is a public university so take that as you will.
10 years ago at 2:28 pmI’m waiting for PC Principal to show up
10 years ago at 11:29 amCamera phones and journalism majors are ruining Greek life.
10 years ago at 11:33 amAnd America.
10 years ago at 7:48 pmNo fun allowed.
10 years ago at 11:40 amI want to round up all SJWs and force them to listen to Nickelback for 10 days non-stop.
10 years ago at 11:40 amJust give them the bid they always wanted, make them go through pledging, and then drop them right before initiation.
10 years ago at 12:32 pmGamma delta iota is currently in open rush.
10 years ago at 3:36 pmIf ADPi isn’t offended, then nobody was harmed during the serenade, and no one should be in trouble. Do third-wave feminists really not realize that telling other women when to be offended is probably way more sexist than this song?
10 years ago at 12:40 pmIt saddens me that my heirs will likely never experience fraternity life, time for another revolution i’m thinking
10 years ago at 12:58 pmWhat the fuck is an Acacia?
10 years ago at 3:30 pmA type of tree.
10 years ago at 7:50 pmSince when did ACACIA begging females for attention become “news”? The only newsworthy aspect of this entire piece is that someone wanted to see an ADPi nude.
