Wetzel was described to the Los Angeles Times as the “friendliest, nicest, smartest guy,” as well as “Superman,” a fitting description of a man whose pledge nickname was Clark Kent.

Our hearts go out to his loved ones and the loved ones of all those involved in this tragedy.

I know this is a fraternity based site. but the fact is that it doesn’t matter if anyone in this horrible act was involved in Greek life. Rest in peace to all the people lost.

    1. Bro hard or go home

Very true, but they’re not trying to make the point that we should somehow care more about this tragedy because one of the victims was a fraternity brother. With something awful happening somewhere every time you turn on the news, it’s easy to become jaded and lose sight of the fact that “14 Dead” means fourteen innocent people, with parents, spouses, and children, hopes, dreams, worries and ambitions were murdered. I think underscoring that fact by humanizing one of the victims (in this case, pointing out that one of the victims, but for the grace of God, could just as easily been yourself or one of your fraternity brothers) helps to drive that home.
