OU’s SAE Is Going To Wish This Very Racist Video Didn’t Get Leaked

A pathetic display of inhumanity was recorded by an occupant aboard what appears to be a chartered bus full of Sigma Alpha Epsilon members from the University of Oklahoma. In the video, an enthusiastic chant is heard that includes the phrase “There will never be a n*gger SAE!” being repeated, followed by “You can hang ’em from a tree, but they’ll never [inaudible] with me!”

Disgusting. Sad. Pathetic. Shameful. All of it.

Many stereotypes exist for legitimate reasons. Racism running rampant among fraternities is one that is unfortunately alive and well because of people like this. Exposing it brings me pleasure.

Several tipsters have alleged that the removal of the SAE chapter from the university is imminent, but we haven’t yet seen an official word on the matter.

        I understand what you’re trying to say, and I agree with you that stereotypes are shitty for everyone. However, I’m pretty sure some “hard working black people” get arrested or killed due to profiling. I have yet to hear of one of us “good willed fraternity men” walking down the street and suffer a similar fate because someone looked at us and thought “man he must be a racist!”

        Use your fucking head, it will make all of us look a lot better in this situation.

I understand what he’s trying to say and he’s trying to make sure this incident doesn’t garnish greek life in general.         I don’t think I ever said he makes us look worse, chief, just that he’s as bad for greek life… And while I’m not trying to quantify how “bad” something or someone is for greek life, I can confidently say that outsiders would find his attempt to sweep it under the rug just as much of a problem as the action itself. Part of people’s issue with greek life is a (false) assumption that we believe we are above the rules, and his comments would only serve to make those people feel justified in their bullshit opinions. We both understood what he was saying, but the difference is neither I nor most people on here believe we should try to hide something like this to help save our reputations. There are more important things than our reputations, and ending actions like that of this chapter are among them.

        Thing is that most of those guys were probably inducted before the no-pledge rule took effect, so they’re actually the result of the pledge process. At the very least, you’d think a decent pledge program would teach them not to record the shit and for FUCKS SAKE DON’T POST IT ANYWHERE. Shit gets out no matter how hard you try. Whether you email someone using your U-email and they snag it, or some girl finds it when you take a piss and she’s on your phone, it gets leaked somehow. If you’re gonna do crap like this (not saying it’s okay, because it definitely isn’t) then at least be careful, not only do you represent your chapter, you represent your fraternity as a national chapter and an international one, your past and future brothers, and the greek community as a whole.

        I personally do not think these idiots would have helped educate the new members during pledgeship anyway. But, do you really think the fact that SAE National says no more pledge process means that the chapters will follow it? Of course every SAE chapter that had a pledge process before will continue to run as before. Unless the SAE chapter gets kicked off campus, each chapter will still have the same pledging as before.

        No it’s not let me explain. We had a close family friend that was stationed at fort sill. They were advised not to wear uniforms off base due to gangs that wanted to kill military members to show how big their dicks are. So yes Oklahoma is a shit hole. It’s riddled with boll weevils and tornados. It will never be anything more than a flyover state. I realize that not everybody there is a complete shitheel but it’s overall a shitty place.
