Police Searching For Suspects Who Opened Fire On UT’s Sigma Chi House

Early this morning at approximately 3 a.m., three suspects opened fire at the off-campus house of Sigma Chi at the University of Texas at Austin. According to police, a security guard was injured, though not badly. The suspects fled the scene and remain at large.

“Police say the three suspects are all described as Hispanic males. One was wearing a jersey and khaki pants with a yellow trim, another has light brown hair and wearing a blue shirt and the third suspect has tattooed arms and was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.”

If you have information about the suspects or believe you’ve seen them, police ask you to call 911.

UT released the following statement this morning: “The safety of our students and community members is always our most important concern. We will provide assistance to Austin Police as they investigate this morning’s off-campus shooting. We will also offer counseling and support to students who were at the party or affected by it.”

I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have your chapter house, a sanctuary to you and your brothers, attacked in such a violent way. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but I hope the police are able to track down those sons of bitches. As always, be smart and stay safe..
