Poll Shows 62 Percent Of People Disagreed With Mizzou Protesters

Although they weren’t out there chanting, raging hunger strikes, or even causing scenes in front of national TV news cameras, an overwhelming majority of people opposed the events that took place at the University of Missouri last week.

That’s right. People who don’t put on nationally recognized hunger strikes have opinions too.

In a recent poll conducted by Remington Research Group, 62-percent of respondents said they disagreed with the University of Missouri student protesters’ actions. That’s compared to 20-percent who agreed.

In a similar question asked by the same poll, 52-percent disagreed with student protesters’ message about racial inequality at the University of Missouri. Twenty-five percent agreed.

While the overall results from the survey of 711 likely voters looks one-sided, it’s a closer race when you take a dive into the demographics.

Whites stayed the course with unfavorable views, but African-Americans split 53/40 approval/disapproval on the protesters’ message and 51/38 on the protesters actions.

Those numbers are a bit puzzling, though. In regard to a protest about racial inequality, systematic oppression, white male privilege and more, you’d think it’d be a landslide of African-American respondents on one side of the issue.

Maybe, just maybe, this was really a protest about whiny college students.

Arguably, the most important answer from the poll lies with the 45-percent of respondents who wouldn’t encourage their kids to attend the University of Missouri.

You really stepped in it, Mizzou, and it’s going to take years to clean it up.

At least racism is over now that Wolfe stepped down, right?

The “stepped in it” pun and the “clean it up” pun. Brilliantly subtle taco man. However, they probably didn’t step in it because it was mainly on the walls. #shitstaka

We N words suck. Black people are fine their skin color is different but n words bring the whole race down just like white trash. White trash make the whole race look bad just like n words.

Fun fact: one study found that Asian students needed an average of 300-400 points higher on their SAT scores as opposed to black students in order to be accepted to Ivy League schools.

    Wouldn’t exactly call that “oppression”

Honestly, we just suck it up, put our heads down, and get the extra 300-400 points. We don’t start a protest like Mizzou.

      Still #AsianLivesMatter

My dad is white and my mom is Asian so I get a little of both spectrum. My mom got me an SAT tutor and I’ll never forget this. When it came down to our last session, my tutor told me that on the test I should just fill in the “white” bubble for racial background because I was half. I asked why and she basically said the same thing you said. That really pissed me off because I’m not ashamed of my ethnicity and shouldn’t be. However, I didn’t want to treat it like a big deal and start a fucking protest. That would have been stupid.

So honestly, by the off-chance a Mizzou protester sees this, suck it up. Everyone has issues they have to get through but you don’t have to throw everything to shit while opposing it. Check your privilege.

ps. I did end up filling both “white” and “asian” bubbles in.

Bro your absolutely right. The Black minorities statistically get into better schools easier and cheaper than any other race and they still wanna bitch and moan.

Black people do realize that every race has been segregated, persecuted, and killed by other races through out human history right? You don’t see me calling out every Italian of Roman decent for what they did to the Christians back in the day. Racism isn’t anything new and it’s not just black on white even if thats what the Liberals want you to think

Surprised only 62% disagreed. The protests will get smaller once their daddies see them on the news, and threaten to cut off their trust funds unless they choose a major other than sociology.
