      Indiana never seceded but much of the population was sympathetic to the South. Oliver Morton, Indiana’s governor during the war, was loyal to Lincoln, and he was quoted as saying “no other free state is so populated with southerners”. Morton repeatedly conflicted with the Democrat dominated Indiana General Assembly and during the war he never called them into session because he feared they would vote to secede…so yeah rockytop1, you do learn something new everyday.

      Doug, I don’t think you understand that rockytop was being sarcastic and that was a rhetorical question. Also, it sounds like Little Ollie Morton was a bit of a vagine don’t ya think?

      ^Maybe you guys took what I was saying the wrong way. What I meant was that much of Indiana sympathized with the South but assholes like Morton had their own agenda.
