Random Tropical Paradise Is Your Perfect Summer Break Movie
Regardless of where you’ll be this summer, whether that be on campus “taking classes” while “working part-time,” back home mooching off your parents while they still don’t mind seeing you on their couch, or out doing free/cheap labor as a corporate pledge (AKA intern), you’re going to have much, much more time than you know what to do with. That’s where we come in.
Random Tropical Paradise is a feature-length comedy coming at you this summer from Grandex Productions in conjunction with Shabash Films and Gunpowder & Sky Distribution. The film stars Bryan Greenberg (The Mindy Project), Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live), Spencer Grammer (Rick and Morty), film legend Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos, The Matrix, plus a billion other A+ works) and more, and is absolutely fucking hilarious. Seriously, though; we’re not just saying that because it’s our movie. This thing’s high comedy. Here’s the trailer so you can see for yourself:
More of a words guy than a moving pictures guy? Here’s what Variety had to say about our project:
Gunpowder & Sky acquired the film in partnership with Grandex Productions, which operates the TotalFratMove and PostGradProblems [sites] and released the films “Temps” and “Total Frat Movie.”
Greenberg stars as as a jilted groom and Wheelan as the best man who helps him through his heartache by convincing him that they should actually go on the honeymoon originally planned — which leads to an adventure of epic proportions of sex, drugs, women, and mafia intrigue. The film’s ensemble cast includes Kyle Kinane, Brittany Furlan, Jessica Lowe, and Beth Littleford.
“Sanjeev has put together a classic madcap summer comedy,” said Jake Hanly, of Gunpowder & Sky. “We’re excited to bring it aboard and happy to be working with Grandex on bringing the film to a crowd that’s going to love it.”
(That’s you)
Ideally you won’t be able to relate to this story in terms of having one of your boys cuck you on your wedding day, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to appreciate the wild, absurdist, well-written ride that is Grandex Productions’ third feature film release.
Mark your calendars: Random Tropical Paradise hits theaters and on demand June 9. Check out their website for more info..
