Rhode Island Football Players Arrested After Beating Chi Phi Brothers Senseless
Two University of Rhode Island football players were arrested early Sunday morning after a confrontation at the Chi Phi house sent multiple fraternity brothers to the emergency room. Barrett Lyons and Michael LeBlanc are currently facing misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges that could be upgraded to felonies pending the outcome of their investigation. Six Chi Phis suffered several injuries as a result of the conflict, ranging from broken noses, arms, and jaws, to severe lacerations. Three brothers, who must have taken the brunt of the damages, were transported to South County Hospital.
LeBlanc has since been dismissed from the team and Lyons was put on indefinite suspension. Five other football players are also under investigation by the team and university regarding the incident. What led to the brawl is still unclear.
Call it a hunch, but I think I cracked the case on how this came about:

My immediate assumption is that there were no minorities involved, given that this is the first I’ve heard of it.
10 years ago at 1:32 pmOr the minorities may have been the football players and that’s not newsworthy these days (I’m also black in case some SJW wants to know)
10 years ago at 2:23 pmOne of them looks like a chubby, adolescent Rosie O’Donnell.
10 years ago at 5:26 pmI was thinking more of a young Kathy Bates, but I can definitely see the Gargoyleness of O’Donnell.
10 years ago at 6:02 pmIt’s Rhode Island, if you’ve ever been there you know there weren’t minorities involved

10 years ago at 1:36 pmBest recovery to my brothers in RI. I’m waiting for the cease and desist on the football team though…wait
10 years ago at 1:38 pmI think this calls for all college football teams to be nationally reprimanded.
10 years ago at 1:42 pmRegester, the bigger question here is how they would fair against your beloved UCF Knights? I mean, in theory, someone would have to win, right?
10 years ago at 1:50 pm6 on 2 isn’t really fair odds whether they’re football players or not. That’s embarrassing.
10 years ago at 2:04 pmIf 5 other players are being investigated then it might not have been 6-2.
10 years ago at 4:46 pmURI’s football team is a joke. They didn’t win a game last year and recently lost to Syracuse 47-0. No one likes the football team here and the school has yet to realize they’re wasting money on it. With that being said, hope those kids have a quick recovery.
