RIP Diesel, The Good And Noble Police Dog Killed During Police Raid On Paris Terrorists

A police dog was killed this morning during a raid targeting the suspected “masterminds” of the deadly Paris attacks that took the lives of 129 people last Friday.

Diesel, a seven-year-old Belgian Shepherd, was killed at some point during the seven-hour raid on an apartment in the suburbs of Paris.

The seven-year-old Belgian Shepherd was killed sometime during the seven-hour siege on an apartment in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis; French police tweeted on Wednesday.

The raid ended Wednesday with the arrest of seven people with suspected links to the Paris attacks. Two suspects, including a female suicide bomber who detonated explosives as police entered the apartment, were killed.

It was not clear whether Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, a Belgian national, was in the apartment in Saint Denis at the time or what his link to the operation was. Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said phone data and eyewitness statements led police to the apartment as part of the manhunt for Abaaoud.

On social media, people shared pictures of Diesel and tweeted about the dog’s service. Many used the hashtag #Jesuisunchien, which translates to “I am a dog” in English and some tweeted that #NotAllHeroesAreHuman. The hashtag #RIPDiesel was used almost 3,000 times after the dog’s death was announced, according to the social analytics site Topsy.

This tweet translates to: “Assault and explosives search dogs are indispensable in the missions of the operators of the raid.”

Fucking cowards. Blowing themselves up in fear of facing justice for the heinous crimes they were responsible for. Pathetic.

This one hit me pretty close to home as the proud owner of a German Shepherd — the best dogs on this goddamn planet. Fucking hell, man. This world has some shitty people in it. May the good people of France show absolutely no mercy on Daesh and eliminate these scumbags once and for all.
