Scottish University Reminds Students To Stop Pooping In Showers And Trash Cans

There are a lot of things you learn on the fly in college: adjusting your class schedule to get easy professors, how to not attend class and still get clicker points, the fact that you’re not supposed to poop in showers and trash cans, etc. Except maybe not that last part somehow I guess?

Administrators from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland recently sent students an email reminding them not to poop in showers and trash cans, which is apparently a rampant problem. Dorm geeds, amiright?!

The story actually gets a tad weirder than that, though, as the email from the university blamed the problem on foreign students. Is this why grandpa always rants about getting foreigners out of the country? It’s gotta be.

A university has told its students to stop defecating in the showers and dustbins, blaming the problem on the “multi-cultural population”.

…

“Given the incidence of people pooing in bins, showers and the likes – can I please remind all TIC [Technology and Innovation Centre] occupants that the toilets have been provided for that specific purpose,” students were told.

“All bodily fluids, solids and toilet paper must be disposed of down the toilet. While I appreciate that the TIC population is multi-cultural and different countries have different practices, here in the UK the accepted practice is to use only the WC.”

The university later apologised for the email, saying that it “contained sentiments that are completely contrary to our institutional values.

Apparently Scottish universities and other cultures do not see eye-to-eye on shower poops. Shower beers? Probably still a go. Shower poos? I guess not.

In other cultures, I assume this is how business is done on a Sunday morning directly following a late Saturday night:

I was originally extremely curious how they decided to pin this one on different cultures. However, a quick Google search of “cultures that poop in the shower” turned up a few results. One of those results was this 2016 headline from Conservative Tribune: “GROSS: It’s “Racist” And “Insensitive” To Tell Refugees Not To Poop On The Floor.” Now, as you know, the Conservative Tribune is a bastion of credible journalism, so I’m just gonna assume that’s correct and keep keepin’ on.

Another result was a Yahoo Answers question that, for the life of me, I cannot tell whether joke or real question:
