You can always count on two coaches in the sports world to give A+ interviews: Gregg Popovich and Steve Spurrier. When either of them are in front of a mic, it’s must-see TV. No matter how you view the Gamecocks, you gotta love Spurrier.

Today, it was the Ol’ Ball Coach’s turn to step into the spotlight once again, this time at SEC Media Days. He did not disappoint and provided us with some top notch entertainment. He wasted no time in discussing how terrible his team was last season. He definitely wasn’t going to hold back at taking some shots at some of the other SEC schools.

Knowing that he doesn’t have a clear-cut number one QB, he has no qualms about going with the two-QB system.

There was no hesitation at his thoughts on the Crimi-Noles down south regarding hitting females at bars.

At the ripe age of 70, it doesn’t look like he plans on retiring anytime soon.

He’s also hoping to start a new futures bet. I have a feeling he’s dabbled in the gambling realm before.

Here is the full interview session:

I hope he never retires. The college football world needs him.

You really got me there, pal. The SEC is a garbage overrated conference for both sports and academics. It’s basically the cesspool of the USA. Now go back to your trailer.

Yeah because football players in other conferences got in because of their stellar grades… And why don’t you look at the NFL draft these past couple of years and tell me which conference is churning out the most NFL picks.

Nice try champ, 9 consecutive drafts SEC was number one. And the conference that beat the SEC in picks back in 06 was the Big Ten.

This account has always been terrible and not very funny. Take your own own advice.

Steve is right about the hitting women policy, but with as many chances as he gave Stephen Garcia, he should put his foot in his mouth when talking about kicking players off of team.

I think any coach would have a hard time letting go of a player that shined against Alabama. That being said, Garcia was a shithead.

I’m 100% convinced that’s the only reason he let him stay. He was mediocre at best besides the Bama game.

I agree. He had his good games and his awful games. He went from beating number 1 Alabama one week to losing to unranked Kentucky the next. It’s a team sport, but he did shit the bed as much as he played great games.

Garcia claimed he was carried out by the bouncer in Five Points the night before the Bama game. No fucking idea how he did it

Too bad Spurrier has already said he’s probably going to be gone in a couple years, which screwed our recruiting.
