GDI called me an idiot for getting drunk and skipping career fair week. I called him an idiot for not having a Father at an investment firm. TFM.

Stop being a fucking smartass and enjoy the fact you’re not a gdi That has to go to job fairs.

well someone with the name “NotAGDI” sure seems like he has something to prove. While “TopSider91” is making a clear and appropriate statement that this is gay as shit. So, your an idiot who probably will end up at a job fair.

Used to be a broker until I realized that it’s not for smart people. I worked too hard in college to make cold calls all day and beg for people’s money. Now I’m into murders and executions… I mean.. mergers and acquisitions.

Actually, in the title of the book and subsequent film it is intentionally spelled with a Y, Happyness.

Well it depends. If his dad is actually a successful investment broker, then he probably has a large and wealthy book of business. Once you get in those circles, you don’t do cold calls, you network through clients you already have and utilize warm recommendations.

“So, you’re a fucking over privledged coat tail rider that couldn’t do dick if you weren’t still dragging on the hind tit the rest of your life?” is what he should have said.

I often wonder how many people on this site would survive in the real world if they weren’t born into a vast wealth of assets.

Disguising sarcasm as sincerity is one skill that almost everyone on this site has over any GDI.

    3. The Piker

I wouldn’t go that far Jim Bro. My high school friends were far better at getting sarcasm, both online and in person, than other Greeks I have encountered. Not all, but a good amount. Fucking Nova kids are the worst, because they truly do not understand the concept at laughing at themselves. You make a sarcastic remark about them, they get all serious and bitch.

@Piker I don’t doubt that your high school friends were cooler than your Pike brothers

I often wonder how many people on this site are overstating their family’s wealth in an attempt to self-aggrandize over the internet.

Some of you kids need to get over yourselves. Congratulations, you have an awesome father. Power to you, you’re a lucky kid. But I’m sick of seeing post after post talking about how awesome your dad is, it just gets old. My dad is a great man who works his ass off to simply put a roof over our heads. Anything else is just bonus. He can’t afford to send me to college, so I’m paying my way through college via the two internships I’ve gotten (through my own networking) and the jobs I’ve had (also, through my own networking). I’m at school on close to a full scholarship studying biomedical engineering/pre-med, in the hope that one day I can be the dad you entitled brats write on websites about. So, yes, I’ve gone to career fairs. Am I really an idiot for not having a dad who works at an investment firm? If you still think so, luckily this website is essentially anonymous so I won’t let you die on the operating table in the future.

Grow up. 95% of you are not going to get through life just because your dad is awesome. And if you’re part of the 5% who will, please give me a call I would love to introduce myself to you and your dad.

Most of the people who post on this site are going to be like John C. Reilly in Step Brothers

Beat me to it. Well written, and couldn’t be more true. Successful people tap into the work ethic that helped their family and friends obtain money. Those destined for failure jump into money without concern of how it got there.

If I read the whole thing I’d probably agree because I’m assuming this is about not being a spoiled bitch, but I’m not up for a novel here Charles Dickens

This sounds like some shit that belongs on the TSM wall. Daughters and wives are supposed to be dependent on men for financial support, why don’t you be a man and make your own future instead of having daddy hire you at the firm.. It’s one thing to have a wealthy, successful family background and another just to be a spoiled prick.
