Texas State Greeks Come Together After Death Of Sigma Chi Member

The Sigma Chi fraternity at Texas State University lost brother Logan Dundas last weekend. His cause of death has not been confirmed. Since the terrible tragedy, the Greek community has come together to celebrate his life and offer support to the grieving family.

Raising awareness with the #LiveForLogan hashtag, the fraternity has already garnered nearly $8,000 for the Dundas family. Here is the description of Logan, written by his brothers, from the GoFundMe page the chapter started.

Logan Dundas passed on April 24th at 21 years old. Logan led a life that inspired everyone around him. His smile would light up the room and brought so much positivity to every situation. Logan enjoyed the simple things like sunny days, a strong family, good friends, and the clothes on his back. He fully embodied the spirit of youth in every single task he was put up to and did so with supreme faithfulness.

He was a loyal brother, but most importantly a friend to us and anyone outside our brotherhood who needed help or support. His selflessness and charisma left a strong impression on everyone he met. All Logan wanted was for his friends and family to be happy and to feel loved.

May you rest in peace dear friend, we’ll miss you more than you can imagine.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Dundas family and friends.

On his ribs he had Philippians 4:13 tattooed on him, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We believe as Logan’s friends and supporters that we can help raise $7,000 to assist the family in funeral costs at this delicate time. Anything at all would go a long way.

On April 26, Sigma Chi took the field for the Intramural Softball Championship against Delta Tau Delta. Before and after the game, the two fraternities knelt in the sand and put their arms around one another, beneath the Sigma Chi letters, for a prayer and a moment of silence. Sigma Chi was especially proud to bring home the win that day.

There has been a big outpouring of support from across the university.

Texas State Sigma Chi invites the community to join them in a vigil at the stallions tonight at 8 p.m.

Even if you never met Logan, we can all celebrate his life by remembering to live as he did. By smiling more. Giving more. Loving more. By remembering that your fraternity is a big, rowdy group of guys that love the shit out of you, and despite the macho, never-show-weakness mentality often portrayed, they will be there for you, no matter what you’re going through. Look out for one another. Stand up for one another. And never, ever be afraid to open up to one another. Live for Logan.

    I’m a freshman here at Texas State. It really is amazing to see a community come together. We may be hyper competitive most of the time but when something like this happens and everyone puts aside petty rivalrys the Greek community becomes something special that I’m incredibly proud to be a part of.

    this right here is truthfully one of the biggest reasons I joined Greek life. yes the parties all that jazz are all fun good but it is the overall family that is Greek life as a whole. Obviously there are rivalries and spats amongst houses but when push comes to shove and there is a brother or sister in need everyone, and I mean everyone I know in Greek life is quick to help in anyway they can. it makes me damn proud to see houses come together like this. Classy move by DTD before that game. The picture really symbolizes the true meaning of all Greek life. To the brothers of Sigma Chi at Texas State, it always seems downright impossible to lose someone close to you but just remember ALL of Greek life across the country is there for you because we are a family.

    Went to high school with Logan. He was an outstanding guy and always had a smile on his face. It’s a shame he went to soon because the world needs more people like him. Rest in peace
