Just looked through my texts from the other night. I found out I ended every one with a "Ron Paul 2012." TFM.

He wants to legalize drugs and allow for every social thing that we conservatives feel should be regulated, be a choice. Also, he wants to sit back and wait until we are attacked instead of recognizing obvious danger and acting on it. TLiberalM.

True conservatism is non-government interference. Just because he doesn’t agree with the government control the Reagan administration publicized to distract the media from how much money they were spending on unnecessary military expenditures, doesn’t mean he isn’t a good candidate. He’s more conservative than anyone running now or that has since maybe Eisenhower.

So you all are for gay marriage, abortion, and potheads smoking marijuana around your future children? And GOPhratter, your name includes ebonics and a reference to a political party to which you do not belong. You, sir, are a lunatic libertarian. Jon Huntsman 2012.

Ron Paul will not win. ever. I don’t know why you’re trying to tell me my candidate or Romney would not win when he is the least electable candidate. I have my own views on social issues as well, but when the candidates have similar economic policies (free-market), why not choose one who hasn’t started a cult of morons and actually has a chance to win the general election?

I guess people forget that Dr. Paul isn’t for legalizing marijuana. He is only for leaving it up to the states to regulate what drugs are/aren’t illegal.

It’s sad so many republicans have forgotten the origin of the party, which is not interfering in people’s economic OR personal/social lives. All of you say that is a purely libertarian view, well I believe it was Reagan who said that libertarianism is the heart and soul of all conservatism. It wasn’t until the 70s and 80s when the social conservatives started making their way into the party, and the party was much better off, and much more conservative before then with people like Barry Goldwater. Ron Paul is the only option besides maybe Hunstman that can help turn the party back in that direction. Educate yourselves on the history of the party, and remember this great country was founded on the idea that as long as you are not hurting anyone else, you have the freedom to do with your life and yourself whatever you want.

You seem to forget that this nation is not comprised of only upstanding citizens. When others people’s actions would interfere with those who choose to avoid drugs, etc. then it’s simply not acceptable. Half of Ron Paul’s supporters don’t give a fuck about the economy, they just think that now they can legally smoke weed and will have this over-hyped sense of freedom which will somehow magically lead them to success.

Well yes you need laws for when you actually do interfere with others, which is why you cannot physically harm others, steal, and why there’s traffic laws. But the idea people’s personal habits such as smoking pot or hiring a prostitute are harming others is simply absurd. By your logic the government can impose good moral standing, an idea which is not only ridiculous, but dangerous. You want the government to make personal choices for us? People have the right to make their own decisions, and shouldn’t be able to come whining to the governent when they screw up, whether it be their health or their finances.

I agree with you entirely that no one should ever come to the government for anything; however, giving people the choice to do something freely that they had to more or less hide in the past will deprive them of their already lackluster work ethic, and do NOTHING to benefit this country other fulfill the aforementioned dream of “freedom.”

Ron Paul isn’t frat? So consistently changing your beliefs to accommodate others IS frat? Ron Paul has balls and sticks to his guns, and that is what I respect most about him. I know exactly what I’ll be voting for with him. I can’t say the same about any of the other candidates, except possibly Huntsman.

^I respect him for that and agree with a lot of his views too, but that doesn’t change the fact that the man is a whack job.

^^If you think Perry (or Obama, or Bush, etc.) has that much to do with an economy’s success/failure, then you might want to take a few Economics courses.
